Any ideas out there for a micro sized light mover for using with a COB LED fixture? Only looking for about 6" of travel. I've never tried growing with LED's before but imagine there would be hot spots. Anyone can benefit from moving lights if done right. The problem with some is too much time is spent in travel across the middle with no pause at either end so the "taller in the middle" effect can be worse. If you get the mover to pause at either end it can reduce this effect.
My fixture is 17" and have 38" length inside the cabinet but taking into account I have most of my fans on one side knocks down some of that area.
Only idea so far isn't very cheap but a 6" linear motion activator with a controller to push it open and move a hanging fixture - then stop for a minute (or any given time period) then close and let the light return, pause, repeat. It's not nearly as complicated as rails but the main idea I'm working with right now.
Maybe a PWM controller could be used on the linear motion activator to slow it down? I see these cheap chinese motors that don't list the current draw, not sure I want to do that but maybe figure where they exist as surplus.
Any other ideas out there or other suggestions?
It's that or a diffuser which would reduce the amount of light reaching the plants.
