Minimum gallon reservoir for 1 plant?

Hi guys,
First time grower. What's the minimum size reservoir for 1 plant? Right now I have a 1.5 gallon for 1 plant and I put the water about 1/3 to 1/2 way up the net pot. Is that going up to high?

5Gal bucket is by far the cheapest and maybe easiest way. Less than that and it makes you work harder for less.

Thanks for the replies. THis is a micro/stealth grow. Wouldn't be able to get a 5g bucket in the box. Would a reservoir this size at least bring the plant to harvest?
