Minimum requirements to give positive rep?

I was given rep by someone who didn't meet the minimum requirements for giving positive rep. I don't really care but I would like to give a few people rep who have helped me and deserve it. Just don't want to give them rep if I don;t meet the minimum requirements. Anyone know?

100 rep point or else you dont give any points, but it shows you tried

and i think there is a time-limit/ post limit you need to pass, tats for the trolls who make multiple accounts to attack people.

Do you get a different number of points per rep depending on who it is or something? Seems like mine is usually like 5 points or something, but every now and then a rep jumps it up a lot more.

The more points you have the more you can alter someones rep. you can see your points by clicking myrollitup and scrolling down to rep

so dont piss off an elite member with massive points that can give negative rep. lol

How do you give negative rep? There is no option when im giving rep.

Not that i want to be neg-repping people, it would just be nice to know ;)

i always thought the red meant they were mod's. Learn something new all the time i suppose. I'll rep ya ryan for learning me something. Didn't think it had to pertain to MJ.
