Miracle Grow/Calcium Nitrate/Epsom Salt mix?

So, I've watched some youtube videos and this seems to work at least OK for hydroponics. Question - what are the flaws with using Miracle Grow?

I know it has no or very little nitrates, its all ammonia/urea that requires bugs to turn it into nitrates. But I think they will do that slowly over time, which is good because...

What it is typically mixed with is calcium nitrate. The nitrate part being nitrates available immediately to your plants.

Then its got a weird blue food type coloring added to it - big deal?

Some people get away with using it and some don’t. The soil sucks for these kind of plants imo. Why settle for MG when you can get a 1.5cf bag of ocean forest for 17-18 dollars.
