Miracle Grow Potting soil??

I no this question may have been answered a few times in threads but couldnt find anything really.
Should I use miracle grow? (says feeds up to 6 months). Im figuring it might be harsh on the seedlings.
Personal experience with mg? Should I mix it up with native soil? And I have an abundance of it so I want to use it.

It will work...I grew a male to about a foot and a half in MG last year before I killed it ...I also have one master kush female growing in MG moisture control as we speak but I don't pay much attention to her except for watering ...she is like a control variable to compare to my other two I'm growing in FF Ocean Forest ....I won't be giving her any bytes though bc mg has it's own...

Not the best stuff if you want to gave a lot of control as to what goes in but like I said it will work and probably just be ok bud since there nutes aren't really meant for mj

Wouldn't recommend it

Well i think im gonna start the plants in little seedling cups for about a week or two then transplant them into the mg holes. Great plants mr.marij, did you add fertz throughout and what was final yeild. Awesome answers guys, Im gonna try it and maybe be VERY light on fertz but not untl like a month and half in. Or maybe I shouldnt.

yea i fed them every 7-10 days, and used it at half strength, started feeding nutes aroung the 5th week of veg, and yeilded 3 lbs. ur plan sounds good, the soil wont have sufficient nutes to feed them that long, it say up to 6 months but realisticly you will probably have to start feeding it after a month or 2 of being in the soil,

Some people do alright with MG, but more often people try and fail to use it...it has more nutes than these plants usually like...I have noticed that people tend to have great success with outdoors using it though..one of my friends grows outdoors and he uses MG and everything looks great, before..he ordered a new landrace sativa this year, and I dont know how it will do, since usually sativas cant handle a lot of nutes...I warned him though, so we'll see...so far everything is just overwatered...

yea i can agree with that, also indoor growers have a short amount of time to get there shit rite, that cant rele call for a time release nute that will take a week or 2 to be completely flushed out,

Like it been said my exp with MG potting soil is that it was very strong for the seedlings but when used with alot of perlite it seemed to work well.
I have never used the MG water retention stuff and we all know why... I also found that MG seemed to be more of a heat release potting soil and not so much with the water.
I will be honest though I wont go back to MG, and I used abit of there nutes once, terrible stuff, very few chealted elements, nearly killed my sunk1. Live and learn though ay...
Bio Bizz all mix with perlite now,
Take it easy all.

I am strongly considering throwing two clones out in late June in 2 gallon pots. One FFOC or Roots and one Miracle Grow just to prove the point. There will be a noticable difference in taste after drying and curing. At least that's my hypothesis.

The results would be biased unless you did a blind taste test with someone else and had someone else distribute it.

Good idea. I dont think I'll need someone else to distribute it. I'll just give my buddies a rating sheet "Taste, look, etc."

Depending on how much it costs, I would let a lab analyze it too. There are mobile labs everywhere in California these days.

In containers miracle grow is not great. theres lots of half composted plant material in there, and some mystery juice to make it hold more water or summat. put some worms in the pot and they will eat up most of the halfdigested compost for you and deliver lotsa good stuff in return. it's win/win.

oh yeah also add like 3-5% by volume used coffee grounds.

Decisions made, ill use the mg two weeks into my plants life . Then I will feed it 1/4 nutes and gradually work my way up to 1/2 and I will also try the worms idea dr kynes, it sounds like it can only benefit with no harm. And im also gonna do the "test" with my weed to lol (taste)

Also a note on the MG soil, if you keep it wet, too wet for long you end up with loads of wee white bugs in the soil, I dont think they did any harm but I just didnt like them, they would leap from the soil to a tray of water when it got dry in my grow,,that was quite a good method, i see if I can find the thread.........

hey drive,, urr im not entirly sure what they turned into, I let my soil dry and they would launch into that tray of water, I then put a drop of bleach into the tray of water and that would kill them. I then just replaced the tray once/twice a day.
I dont think they did any harm but i didnt want to find out. I have only seen them in MG and not in any other soil...
