miracle grow singles.... help???

So i picked up a pack of miracle grow singles and see a lot of people saying to stay away from it. I have a 1 week old indoor plant and im wondering if i do 1/4 strength would it be safe to use this at 2 weeks or would i end up killing my little pride and joy. Or when should i feed her in general. I dont have the cash to switch nutes or online connections for anything ordered online so if i absolutely cannot use it what could i get off the shelf at the local Walmart, as i do not have a hydro shop in the town im in.

If you have to ask this question, you're not well versed enough to "experiment" with MG. There are lots of better choices, go out and buy a soil like Promix or Fox Farm. Fox Farm is 10 bucks for a big bag, don't be cheap or you'll probably fuck up your plants, especially if it's a week old. Plants don't need to be fed until at least 3 weeks to a month out.

yeah better soil and nuts would be ideal. but as he said he does not have the funds nor the availability of products at the local stores. The guy was feeding 1/2 tbs every 7 days with just crap tap water and it had decent results. as god here said you should not need to fed for another week or 2

I think it's also worth saying that you need a ph pen to test your water after it's been mixed with nutes. When you start feeding in 2 or 3 weeks start at a quarter strength and work up, watch your plants for a response. If you start having problems stop feeding. No point in damaging your plants trying to get a bigger yield when the damage will negate any gains. Ph in the water should be 6.0-6.5 AFTER you mix the nutes. If you don't have a PH pen, don't even bother experimenting with the MG. You'll just damage your plants. Feed only once per week, and get appropriate nutes as soon as you can. MG is notorious for causing damage. There are other sources of things like nitrogen that can be used. If you have a dog you can always use it's shit for fertilizer if you're that strapped for cash.

That foxfarm and stuff sounds like a good idea. Is there anyway i could find a soil off the shelf that would do the job? And theres no way im making my grow room reak of dog shit.. How is kibble a good source of nutrients once it breaks down. XD

You can get some vermiculite, perlite, peatmoss, and some dolomite lime to make your own soiless mix but you will still need nutrients...even with fox farm soil you will eventually need to add nutrients.
