Miracle Grow Soil!

Ok, so there are probably a good bit of you who think that MG soil is just all in all a bad idea. But ITS WHAT I HAVE AND ITS FREE. Is there anyone out there that has successful grows with it? Im thinking that if i grow with it and water accordingly, that all will be well. Any suggestions please concering this.

i grew this outdoor in a pot with miracle grow and they turned out great








i watered with normal water and with a really REALLY low dose of nutes every 2 weeks.

i grew indoors with MG and it went great - except it had fungus gnats - which I kept at a reasonable level with pest strips

i have grown a few times in the past with mg soil. and the only issue ive had with it is it burns smaller plants in the beggining.
i also used mg because it was what i had.
another problem with mg soil is it isnt clean. i mean it can come with spider mites and all sorts of shit in it. i have to say though i used it and had sucess with it. toward the end after youve watereed it a bunch of times the soil gets weaker and weaker, so about 5 or 6 weeks from start i had to hit it with grow big by fox farm and tigerbloom. right before flowering. once the nutes washed out it was like working with any other soil. one good thing is, if you add perlite and vermaculite for drainage, then toss in some blood meal, bone meal, and wormcastings, the only thing for over a month you have to do is water it. toss some guano in also. those nutes will hold it for a long time and i guarantee youll be happy with the results. good luck bro

as far as gnats go, i had em too. i stopped watering for a few days left a cup of punch out. the biggies flew to there death in the drink cup and the others dried out. they love a wet environment. i had to use a spray bottle and not completely soak the medium for a while till they got less and less. they were pretty easy to deal with. id rather have gnats than spider mites any day..
if the mg does bring insects, tooss some lady bugs and a prayingmantis and they will eat em aall

Wow, sounds very very promising. Well at the moment i have some sprouts just now popping from the soil indoors(small closet 2.5 x 3) . Gonna get some bigger pots mix some of those like Jordis said and hopefully Southern States or my local Greenhouse (Maybe Homedepot, Lowes, Walmart) has some nutes. Btw, that first plant was pretty big.

it works well if you have the organic kind of MG

I grew my first grow in MG soil, it came out okay. I wouldn't recommend nutes with it though, at least not for the first month then just a small amount like stated above. Mix in about 40% Perlite when you transplant, its like $4 at Lowes or others. The MG will compact bad without the perlite mixed in, your roots will get stumped from the hard soil.

mg isnt bad in a spot. at home depot youll be able tpo find the perlite vermaculite, blood and bone meal. the guano youll have to go to a hydro or oorder it from on line.

Aside from the guano (which i dont have access too because im neither close to a colony of bats or a hydro store), how much of the perlite, vermiculite, blood meal and bone meal do i mix? I actually have a 92 year old grandfather who himself does gardening ( of the vegetable type) and was just going to borrow from him most of the ingredients, so i can pretty much do this now.
