miracle grow

im doing an experimental grow. using MG on a couple of plants, with a diluted solution so im not burning the plants. i believe there are steps to be taken before i harvest so that the MG (non-organic) doesnt ruin my bud. flushing it? only water for about a week before i harvest? give me tips

IMO flushing is not a helpful process. If you have a couple of hrs read this post. https://www.rollitup.org/general-marijuana-growing/409622-truth-about-flushing.html

MG is pretty hot and as you are doing should be used at a reduced rate. If you are looking for a good cheap fert, try Osmocote I've used it for a long time and it works great. I like either the Osmocote Plus or the straight 14-14-14, then I use MG bloom booster just a couple of times during flower.

when u flush the mg is gonna make more of the time release balls open and burn ur plants, try mg organic and just add ur own perlite

You'll need quite a good flush. MG is packed with time release nutrition that is engineered toward flowers such as perrenials, not food plants or cannabis. It's a cheap soil because it's produced on a massive scale, with cheap ingredients.

Interesting. What MG are we talking about? A fertilizer or a medium? Then, which? For example, there are four MG mediums and they're all very different. So, what is being discussed?

if i use the organic MG fert, why do i need to add the perlite?
im considering two options: osmocote like someone suggested or the organic MG fert.
what do you all think?

MG is shit.... dont ever use it again. spend a few bucks and buy 4-5 bottles of actual organic nutes... then you wont need to flush. even if you use organic MG you still will want to flush and believe me theres a good chance you will still taste that shit.

I would flush 2 weeks b4 finish, depending on how much of it you used. if you used alot i would flush again prior 4 weeks b4 finish. b4 you start make a quick screen to stick in the drain so you dont clog it with dirt. take each pot into the bathtub, however big your pot is run 3x that size amount of water thru it... let them sit for 45 mins or so to drain then back into your room.

dont water them again after that. its best if you almost let your plants dry up and die right b4 you harvest.. this gets all those last nutes into the buds. the plant knows its main mission is the fruit so every last resource it has will go into them.

I personally use 1/2 promix (or a soiless medium) 1/2 perlite. excellent drainage, stable base and easy to maintain proper PH. my fav nutes are called Earth Juice and totally organic

MG is known to have many salts in it and that's why its so fast acting in your garden. But it will build up in your soil over time. So If you are using MG I'd flush mid way through flower, this would be more important than a flush at the end. But I'd recommend using the Osmocote, (min salts) and I do know they work. I just finished my 8th run using controlled release fertilizers. I've used 3 different types of Oz and Dynamite Red (I think it was the red 15-15-15). IMO the Dynamite and the Oz 14-14-14 worked the best. I'm doing comparisons with the Oz Plus and standard this run. As far as a final flush this is something you'll have to do yourself, there are a lot of different opinions on the subject, I'd say run 2 plants on the same feedings and flush one to see for yourself. I personally am on the non flush side of the fence, I can't see starving the plant during the most important 2 wks of growth. Adding perlite is not necessary when using good soil like FF, I'm not saying you can't add it, but it's not necessary.

Best of luck with your grow
