Mislabeled Frisian Duck from Herbies Headshop?

I decided to try something new so I ordered a 10 pack of Dutch Passion's Frisian Duck from Herbies. Popped three beans, and to my surprise I have plants with 5-7 finger leaf sets and no webbing? I am assuming the beans were mislabeled and I was given something unknown or is this normal due to the recessive nature of Duck's foot?

Within that same order I was given a 10 pack of critical mass that didnt germ, a few beans were cracked along the seam when I received them, as if they had been mishandled...partially germinated and then died maybe. I emailed Herbies and they blew me off, so as far as I am concerned fuck them. There are enough seed banks operating in the US now with much better customer service.

Herbie does suck. I forgot what issue I had but they didnt give 2 fucks.

My guess is those were just bulk seeds. All European breeders/seed vendors get their seeds from huge Spanish seed supplies. Breeder "gives cuts or seeds" to the spanish grower who then mass produces said seeds.

Only a handful actually make their own seeds and I'd have no way of knowing which do.

Youd have to research it more but that is how American Breeders get their packs to overseas banks too. Rare dankness famously went to shit after doing this.

half of the cross is a non-webbed strain so you are probably gonna have to pop more than 3 seeds to find the duck foot phenos

A lot of euro seed banks require seed companies to have seed production in the EU before they stock them.

Okay waterproof808 its for reasons like this that I posted this. Don't want to put them on blast if I am wrong, I'll sprout the others and let you know. If 10/10 are non webbed then I have to assume its mislabeled. Otherwise why sell me the beans if its so rare and I have to pheno hunt through S1's. To be honest I have not seen any others online germinate duck and not find the phen so maybe I'm the unluckiest person ever or all the others stopped complaining and took the L. Going to take about two weeks to grow out and report whether or not duck phenos so bear with me, but I will update you.

Be interesting to see your final results.

Management, stock reporting and service seem to have changed since the move to Spain.

Update: grew out all 10 beans, no duck phenotype present. Surely they gave me something other than Frisian duck.

That sucks...

I've been working my own duck strain for a few years..You'll know by the second set of true leaves whether you have the recessive trait or not..Lots of interesting physical phenos popping up...Great for stealth (my intended purpose)

Tell Herbies to "Go Pound Sand!" Word gets around and their business will drop off a cliff if they keep it up!
