Start of 5 week from seed tomorrow. Ph and temps are staying very consistent to levels above. This is my first grow, does this look normal? Seems to be doing good, just staying short, a few days ago lots of new growth around the stem.

If to take the top out of the plant that 'new growth' around the stem will become all your branches to flower. Ideally your aiming for a nice squat bushy plant to turn to flower 12/12.

Nice work with the LED's

Start of week 6 from seed. Changed water and nutes 3 days ago. Ppm 1000 water temp 68. Min and max temps and ph staying at above levels. Here's new photos.View attachment 2601154View attachment 2601154View attachment 2601155View attachment 2601156View attachment 2601157

still staying very short and bushy. Received some auto beans in the mail, I may switch these over next week since these are bag seed and I wanted to get the hang of this before I tried with expensive beans. Any input appreciated.

Start of 7th week. Plant is quite bushy and I switched the lights to 12/12 today. If its true that plants double in size when flower then I had to. Changed water ppm dropped a bit since moving t a flowering schedule. Ppm 650, max temp 76 humid 46 min temp 68 humid 22, ph steady 6.0. I hope this turns out...

Subbed, I just received my misty, a soil box not hydro though. Excited to start my grow.

Lets get a update man

I find the soil only version runs hotter then the 6 degrees above room temp advertised using the hydro system, as high as 10 degrees. Please let me know what you find. Im having a difficult time keeping temps down, and the humidity is low because of the heat(25 - 30%). For example, if my room temp is at 73, just running the box in that room can raise the temp to 76, and the room has good air movement. 10 degrees above that your already at 86 degrees. Any small step in the wrong direction with temps and the box is running at 88 - 90 degrees. I added a waterfarm for giggles and the temp stayed 5 degrees cooler and the humidity was up to 50%. Other than that the box looks pretty good. I just got it so nothing to show except some dead seedlings from over water...............Ill learn my lesson :)

Nice my seeds are germinating right now actually going to check on them in a bit. So did you return your soil box and pay the difference to upgrade to hydro?

Was actually kind of curious about this. Wonder if I can ship mine back in 6 months or a year and pay the difference for them to upgrade it to hydro lol doubt it but that would be some bad ass customer service.

Thanks for the info on the temps will definitely monitor.

Well plugged the box in just so I could monitor the temps and see whats going on. Has not even been an hour and temp has gone from 74 to 81.6 Room temp (large closet) went up 1 degree so far.

Sounds like you might be ok if you can keep the room temp down like that, 85 degrees wouldnt be too hot ....I dont think. I have a couple friends who can give me a decent hydro setup, and honestly, if you wanted hydro in the box you could do it on the cheap and not mess with the hassle of refunds and all that. Im a total noob man, so I dont wanna give the box a bad name. Im gonna work with it for sure, and Im sure it can produce. I mean, its tiny you know, so keeping things cool in there can be tricky, I just was shocked at the guy who started this thread when he said temps were 75! even with the hydro setup. I may have to put the box in a room with better air circulation to keep the room temp down. I got some seeds going now as well so Ill keep you posted. I think the bottom line is this is all new to me, so Im going through the growing pains just like everyone else :) stay here man, keep me posted, lets help each other out if we can.....peace.

O snap lol did not even realize you were not the OP. Yea total noob here too just starting out, been a few hours now and the box temp settled at 83.3 and the temp in the room is at 75. I think I can easily drop it a few degrees by just leaving the door to my closet open. I can feel the temp difference just walking from my master bedroom into the closet.

Nice we have a few people using this box hopefully we can help each other out with our mistakes lol. Found this thread by googling for misty grow box journals and it was the only one I could find.

Edit: So to clarify you are using the soil box not hydro?

How many plants do you plan to attempt? I have 5 seeds germing right now. I am thinking of starting them in 3oz solo cups and then transplanting into smart pots as they grow. Have a handful of 1 gal and 2 gal smart pots. If it gets overcrowded I will just trash the weaker plants and keep the strongest ones.

Option 2 is just have 1 plant in a 3 gallon pot
