Misty 181 hydro grow cab 90 watt led

The only thing I am confused about is the water solution. I change the water reservoir every 10-14 days with nute solution. Should I give them only water once in a while, or just keep up the solution mixture? I know towards the end of flowering I give them straight water for the last week or so... I guess my question is do I give them just water every other time? They seem to be doing fine, with just the nutes...

O snap lol did not even realize you were not the OP. Yea total noob here too just starting out, been a few hours now and the box temp settled at 83.3 and the temp in the room is at 75. I think I can easily drop it a few degrees by just leaving the door to my closet open. I can feel the temp difference just walking from my master bedroom into the closet.

Nice we have a few people using this box hopefully we can help each other out with our mistakes lol. Found this thread by googling for misty grow box journals and it was the only one I could find.

Edit: So to clarify you are using the soil box not hydro?

How many plants do you plan to attempt? I have 5 seeds germing right now. I am thinking of starting them in 3oz solo cups and then transplanting into smart pots as they grow. Have a handful of 1 gal and 2 gal smart pots. If it gets overcrowded I will just trash the weaker plants and keep the strongest ones.

Option 2 is just have 1 plant in a 3 gallon pot

Correct, I am using the soil version. Im going to use as many 6 inch pots as i can squeeze in there. Im thinking seeing more plants grow at once will give me better experience overall. If you want to try something like LST, you can on one of your plants if your growing 6, something like that. Of course the yield will be less per plant, but I see this as a faster method to dial in the environment. Why don't you start a new thread for your grow? we got one here for hydro we need one for soil? maybe? its up to you. I got 4 seeds breaking the surface, maybe Ill start it up.....well see. How are you seeds going now?

28 days of 12/12. Had a major heat wave and the house got really hot. Max temp in the cab was 88 for 2 days min 70. Water temps did stay at 68. I got a portable ac for my room and that did the trick. Back to min of 68 and max of 78.
here is some new photos..

I have 2 going in here and its pretty packed. Had 3 but one was a male, these are bag seed btw, the 4th pic is the plant on the left of cab, it was a week less of veg since it didn't start with the one on right. I killed some cause I didn't have the drip right. This is my very first grow and I'm pretty pleased so far. I think this cab would be good for a sog method but since I'm new I have no idea how to do it.... Plant on the right I topped around 4 weeks of veg, left I did nothing....

Plants are looking nice! ^^^^^^^^^^

I have 4 seedlings left, accidentally crushed one yesterday while stringing up 4 cfls in my box whoops lol. They sprouted on May 2nd so 8 days old now and about 4 inches tall. The manufacturers could have added a few attachment points inside the box to mount additional equipment that you want to add.

Monitoring my box temp now after adding the cfl's it went from 84 degrees to 91 yikes.

Had to take out 2 of the cfls. Even though they don't put off much heat the box is just to small for them. Box temp is down to 87 now.

Was hoping to see a growth spurt after a full day with the 6500k CFLs on them but they still look the same. Going to resist checking on them for another 24 hours hopefully I will notice some nice new growth.

I put a 135 watt ufo in there and the temps seem to stay between 88 and 90 degrees, with my room temp around 77.

Did you upgrade to the 90 watt led?
Yes I did get the upgrade

Had to take the last 2 cfls out of my box the extra heat was just to much and all my plants leaves rapidly started to shrivel and yellow so back to just the led. Hopefully they can recover

My box sits at 85 degrees with a 90 watt w/3watt leds, room temp is 74. When I added the CFLs the box temp went up to mid 90's and nuked my plants lol. Not too upset this is more of a trial run for me before I put my game face on, anyways after torching my plants with heat I thought for certain all 4 would be gonners but it has been a week and my strongest two plants seem to be pulling through. They both are changing back to a nice healthy green color and have new growth.

The weaker two plants have grown slightly taller over the week but they are still yellow and look on the doorstep of death lol poor bastards.

I have been looking at this, what do you think? Get more light on the plants without jeopardizing the box temp. How tall are your babys now?

Short man, the plants are short :) I got 4 six inch pots in there will a little room to spare. My plants seem to do just fine in the 90's, like the highest Ive seen is 92 and they rolling right along. I have heard good things about the Blackstar, but check the LED forum here for a review. I tried CFL as well :) but man they got hot! temps went to 100+ :) I think the 90watt will do just fine for the little space we got, but Im always trying new things......to learn you know.....thats important.

Lol growing/learning pains we will figure it out =] This weekend I plan on transplanting the strongest three remaining survivors into 2 gallon pots, I just got done checking how the pots would fit in the box earlier, we can fit 4: 1 gallon smart pots or 3: 2 gallon. Was excited that three of the 2 gallon smart pots fit because I could only fit a single 3 gallon plastic pot in the grow box.

Didn't realize there was a LED specific forum here will check it out

Edit: Lmao thought I was on grasscity

What are you using for your growing medium? Fox farms ocean forest for me.

Day 42 12/12. My box is at max temp of 82 min temp 68. Must be cause its getting warmer here. I think 2 plants n this cab is pretty packed. Not sure if packing in 4 plants would produce more since they would be too crowded. But I'm not sure as this is my first ever grow.

I do hope these will fatten up with this light. I have been thinking of a larger led as well. Might as well see how much this 90 watt will produce...

In that second picture, I see lots of leaf twist? there could be something else wrong......nutes too high? but I think you would see some burn on the bottom leaves? Im a noob :) but for sure the twisting is not good. Possibly something has really slowed your growth down. I have seen good grows with only the 90watt led....well...good is a relative term, but you know what I mean, just google it, plenty of results come back.

Day 62 12/12. How do you tell when they are ready to harvest? It took about 17 days to show preflowers.

Theses are old bag seed so I have no idea about genetics.

Day of 75 12/12. Trichs are half cloudy half clear.... Learned a lot one my first go around. Most likely harvest soon. I have started two new auto seeds and they have sprouted. Hopefully will have less problems this next go around, and a better harvest, lol!
