cut, trimmed and hung my bud and noticed theres spider mites on em what should i do? and hows the best way to clear them from the grow room cos i have more girls in there
I think they will leave the bud as it dries. They need living plant material to feed on. I don't think they will harm you anyway, maybe just gross you out.
You need to clean your grow space out. And go get hot shot's "no pest strips". They sell them at lowes and home depot. They contain dichlorovos which kills bugs. I'm not sure if the lowering temps in my house or the no pest strip is the reason for my mite infestation being gone, but I highly suspect the no pest strip is working (as many other swear by - which is the reason I got it. my mites were out of control!). They are about $7 each, and seem to be working fantastically for me.
Just my thoughts, but I think they will die off. They dont feed on TCH, but nutes from the plant. As the bud dries (and technically dies), nutes are not available. Eventually the mites will die, and honestly who cares if they sucked out some nutes,as long as ur thc is still there.
also, try freezing your buds for a few days. those little bastids' wont be able to hand that
I don't know if I would freeze. I've heard the freezing process can burst the trichomes causing degradation in quality. At this point I don't think you need to worry about mites on your buds. You DO need to worry about mites still in your grow area and on living plants. They will continue feeding and causing irreversible damage. Eradicate those fuckers.
