Mites or Thripes? Please help

Basically 2nd grow, going perpetual this time. Mother plants have been infested with a pest and I have no idea which it is, first grow went damn near perfect.

Small white specks on top of leaves (Mainly on my only know female, Mrs. Trainwreck)
Noticeable movement on undersides of leaves and what looks like webs (leads me to believe mites)
Stunted growth, almost all lower branches died off.

Here's some pics, please help lead me in the right direction. I also set up my tent today in the same room, but have yet to put a plant in it, will I need to worry about cleaning it out as well? :S

All are of Mrs. Wreck, besides last pic which is my veg chamber (3x2x3).

That's just my veg chamber, haven't tried flowering with that at all. First grow I used like 6 CFL's (5 23W 2700k and 1 6500k 26w) and I pulled about 21g from a closet. It's the one from htgsupply right? 110 watt HO T5 2'?

But anyways, I really don't want to trash room, as I put down my one and only GDP ceed and formed its cotyledons and first set of true leaves at the same time, so I am interested to see what it will do :(.

Looks like a classic case of spider mites to me. As for treatment, I would use a product called AzaMax in conjunction with a wetting agent such as CocoWet. Captain Jacks Dead Bug has also been a helpful additive in the past. Do a nice foliar drench (and when I say French I mean DRENCH. make sure your leaves are sopping wet on top and bottom) and make sure you do it after your lights turn off. You don't wanna do it during lights on periods. Give it a nice heavy treatment and then treat again. In the future, I would Azamax once during week two or 3 of veg. Any time shortly after the plants are 1.5 feet tall is a good time. Do it even if u don't see the mites. It's good preventative maintanance. Also, nothing helps keep the mites away like a healthy grow. Strong healthy plants with good strong genetics have their own natural defenses against bugs, mold, mildew, and other grow room trouble-makers. A good defensive strain I have used in the past is LA Confidential from DNA Genetics. You can buy it from most seed bank websites or straights from DNAs website. Good luck pal! I've struggled with mites in the past and eventually conquered them. Some of the best growers out there have struggled too, so don't let them get you down. Fight the good fight.

I also meant to say "give it a nice heavy treatment and then treat again 7 days later". I also wanted to mention that I still hit my plants with preventative doses of Azamax, because there is no complete cure for spider mites. Once they are in your grow, they r there for life. TE idea is to just make sure they are never able to "outbreak". There will always be a few eggs hidden in the cracks of the walls, or your golden retrievers hair (dogs should never be near your grow... Ever.... No pets allowed). Hope I was of some help. Lemme know if I can help with anything else

looks more like thrip damage to me. not 100% sure, because i've never had spider mites, but do have experience with thrips and thrip damage.

I am thinking of just trashing it all, maybe keeping my Ken's GDP, that I JUST SPROUTED....it had its cotyledons and first set of true leaves appear at the same time, but both are about the same size, so I should be able to hopefully "cure" it before it takes too much damage.

Would a diluted bathroom bleach cleaner (clorox) be safe to use to clean my veg chamber?
Would it be easiest to just trash my trainwreck and 2 random's and pop more of my ordered ceeds? (including critical kush)
Should I kill my GDP as well or try to save it by possibly keeping it in my room, away from the veg chamber for a few weeks fighting it's mites separately and hopefully the veg chamber will be clear for need ceedlings

If you want to try and control the spider mites you need to grab some common house hold items. Such as %100 lemon juice, dish soap with no detergent and chili powder.

Mix 1 teaspoon per quart of lemon juice. This is spray #1
Mix 3 tablespoons of dish soap per gallon. This is spray #2

You will use spray #1 every 3 days for the first week. Then spray #2 every 3 days for the second week. After the second week check the plants too see if mites are still there.

if you do not have mite eggs on the bottom of your leaves then you have thrips my friend. treat with spinosad, 3 times, 3 days apart. that will kill all of them. Monterey makes a spray that is readily available

mites!
Neem oil.
There ya go!!! :bigjoint:
Spider mites for sure. Breaking the breeding cycle is key. Adults are fairly easy to kill, nits on the other hand are not.
Oh ya, their easy too, just water your plants with the Neem Oil mix and it works from the inside to repell leaf munchers and other pests

NOOOO...just use Neem Oil buddy...spray once, and water with neem every week for a month or so...I use it for a preventitive now and I have NO BUGS what so ever..

Mites fo sho. When you're ready to kill them, I recommend varying treatments. Like alternate Neem oil and insecticidal soap and something else if you want to be real safe, I like to mix in a pyrethrum bomb (I use the non flammable kind you can get at home depot). I've seen the effects of mite resistance, and it is no joke. Once every 3-4 days for like 3 weeks. It's true once you have mites you have em for life, but if you give it that good 3 week treatment, you might not see another one for like 6 months, though you should still do preventative treatments with something along the way. The oil, and soap are both pretty safe and harmless. I sometimes use stronger stuff in early veg if needed.

Once it gets to be a bad infestation Captain Jacks is no good. I have had crazy infestation problems of mites in past outdoors. Now I use been oil from the start and have little to no problems. It's better to use preventative measures from start rather than getting rid of an infestation. Good luck!
