MMMP and driving

I wrecked a car when I was changing a CD once.....I even told the cop that and he didn't care. So, the spirit here is "lynch and forever punish those so audacious as to endanger our roads through distracted driving (is this not the logic behind increasing penalties for toking and driving - there is an assumption that it creates bad driving)"

So, logically, if this has ever happened to anyone else, then we have a duty to remove radios from cars. We already know that texting and driving kills, but we don't forever lynch texters. We don't forever lynch someone who is putting on makeup in the rearview. We don't care if someone's fat greesy cheeseburger hands slip on the wheel or if their soda can slips under the brake pedal, or if the cat who isn't caged gets under the pedals....no, you can do all sorts of fat, stupid, american things without getting lynched, it's only the smokers who get lynched.....

Yay America! Yay Michigan! Yay Snyder!

I've been threatened with DUI 5 or 6 times. I have been quite fortunate. The cops are always so amazed how stinky my car is yet no cannabis. I always say I smoked one yesterday.

I honestly have no idea why I've been so lucky.

Maybe cause U really were not impaired to drive.

There are some fair cops that can look past the odor and wait and see if that persons judgment does seem impaired before they go making an arrest.

Smells can be misleading, anybody will reek of weed if they are inside a place where others are smoking lots of weed.

Ya know, it is not reported what drug the woman in question was using. I'd be surprised to find that it was mj.

Yeah I seen that. I do agree for sure but I trust nothing our government tells us. They also claim these air bag cars are safer in a crash yet U don't see big buck Nascar using any air bags, oh no, they want their drivers to walk away from a crash.

Back in the fucken 1970's when drunk driving did not start till .15, no cop around would link smoking weed to impaired driving. Back then a person could not walk straight before the words impairment started. Today some cops like to say any M use in the past 24 hours is ground for DWI, thats total BS. Its like saying a sip of booze makes one too impaired to drive.

More studies should be done, why not study video game users, see how "bad" they do after puffing some bud. That can't be that hard to do. They just don't wanna admit there isn't much risk. Pot use likely effects driving as much as coffee does

If it were not for pot there would be no video game industry to speak off. It could be considered a performance enhancing drug among pro gamers ;) That may be a skewed population to study, kind of like snow boarders :bigjoint:

know your own tolerance, I am always medicated while driving, have done so for many years, so much so that driving sober would be a challenge with the area full of idiot skiers.

Wasn't for weed, I might not had survived the 55 mph speed limits as a youth, ha ha.

Times have changed thou and speeds have increased on the freeways and plus I no longer feel very safe in these air bag cars that lack a real bumper and thick sheet metal. I had a 75 Gran Fury back in the 55 mph days, setting the cruise at 60 mph and then "medicated" was very safe, IMO..Today I'm doing 75-80 in some car with plastic bumpers and aluminum suspensions and wheels. It feels like a toy and it would fall apart in a crash. Plus I'm older, my reflexes aren't as good and people drive like shit today, there is no thinking about other motorists. Here in Detroit we had a city bus break down on I-94, did it pull off the freeway, hell no, it came to a stop in the far left lane--buses should not even be in the far left lane ever, let alone stop in the lane.....guess what happen, yep, one person died in a pick up truck, then another dude in a van, slam into him..hes in surgery now ...bus driver was just fine, they still build buses like a tank ha ha.....

The Feds claim driving is safer then ever, I disagree. These newer cars do handle great and can avoid more crashes then my old Gran Fury could but if in a crash, good luck, U sure are going to need it, IMO

As for going 60 mph on the freeways now, forget it, everybody will pass U by and U stick way out if a cop is around--he be like, why is he driving so slow, I better check him out

i drive an 05 Tahoe, there is a reason why my back corner bumper is crushed in a tad and the right 1/4 panel has VW on it. I go big and i go slow, i follow the laws and even use my signals now and then. i talk to the radio thats on ESPN when driving, but i live in the sticks and get one person on our road every hour or so.

I have been stressing about this drugged driving law. My friend is convinced they have a mouth swab that is being used. Anyone know of this? I don't smoke and drive period. But. I smoke all day and then drive. So I constantly smell like a waking skunk and I'm sure if there was a baseline for impairment I would be impaired all day?

The UK has mouth swabs, as far as i know, they aren't approved for us in the USA, not for law enforcement..now some shit today is volunteer, they ask U if U will take a test or answer some questions off the record and U get these jack asses who go along with it and jump through their hoops and answer all their questions.

Still its not a bad idea to brush your teeth and use some mouthwash--they claim it doesn't help for drinking and maybe it doesn't but it sure can't hurt.well some mouthwash does have alcohol in it, so then its not a good idea if your borderline

Hey sorry to dig up an old post, but I was wondering resinhead if you had your medical card at the time of your license renewal? I'm about to go through the same process after losing my license back in 2007 and that would be my only roadblock, if they were able to know at my hearing that I'm a registered patient and caregiver. My plan is to just clean up for the substance abuse evaluation/whiz quiz and then just keep quiet about my card at the hearing but I've heard conflicting reports of whether they will know about my medical card or not.

My gut thinking is, they can know....its not that hard to check....I've been checkout an I never showed my card..so the cops either took my good word, ha ha or its not that hard to check

Its so messe up--this license BS, peopIe who should not drive, never get ticket yet others lose theirs too easIy.....I hate driving--U aren't missing much, IOI..roads are beat up, peopIe yak whiIe driving.....when I hit the Iotto, its no more driving, I'm getting party buss an Ietting somebody eIse drive it

Like skylor, I assume they know. Lara and ss are both there in Lansing. Besides that, it is a question they will ask you at your hearing. You don't want to get caught lying at that hearing, and for that reason, I decided to let my card expire one year prior to my hearing as advised by my expensive attorney. Hope this helps.

Yes it does help, thank you. I actually wasn't sure if they would flat out ask me about having a card or not since I lost my license due to alcohol. I was planning to just keep quiet about it as long as it was never asked, but blatantly lying to a direct question, nah I wasn't ready to do that. Letting my patient card expire is what I anticipated I would really have to do if I ever wanted to get my license back. The problem is, I'm a caretaker too so my patients and pocketbook are going to take quite the hit if I let my caretaker card go too. I'd imagine that they would hold that against me just as they would a patient card, since I'm "still in contact with marijuana." I might just have to consider hiring a chauffeur for the summer and holding off on the license mission until I can make some adjustments to allow me to let both of my cards go and be worry free. Thank you for the advice though, always good to hear from people who have actually been through the process instead of people saying they "heard" how it works.

All three hearings I went to, they asked me if (I) had my card.
The question is: by maintaining your obligations to your patients and keeping your caregiver status, do you "have a medical marihuana card"? Probably yes, but you may want to seek legal counsel.
Regardless of the hearing, when you do get granted restricted driving privileges, one of the restrictions will likely be "any alcohol/drug activity" like it says on my fancy green paper license.
They got us by the balls until we jump through ALL of their hoops.
