Things are going really well in my neck of the woods. High winds yesterday conspired to attempt knocking some girls down yesterday, but they all managed to make it through without any damage. The big Kodiak girls are looking super fine and the largest should yield upwards of 1 1/2 to 2 lbs provided they get the time they deserve. They already have 1 lb on them as is, so we'll see. Either way I'll be pleased. I got lbs drying right now and I'm feeling pretty good about things.

I tried to buy a small enclosed trailer the other day so I can haul my harvest home in less trips, guy backed out of selling it though. Would have been really nice. As is, it's gonna be a pain in the ass trying to harvest some of these monsters and bring them back to the processing area. Ahhhh well, a problem I enjoy tackling.

Already knee deep in plans for next year. Been seed shopping pretty hard lately. I will have a trailer for next year, no doubt. In some of the areas I planted, I spaced them a little too much I think. Could have packed them in way thicker. I think that if you aren't doing the couple here and there method and you are going to use the patch method, might as well pack them in hard while still giving each the proper spacing. A large blur of green surrounded by other large blurs of green make it hard to spot from above. If I grow these AK47's again next year, they will be even harder to spot. Because every single leaf has turned deep purple. Nobody's looking for purple Christmas trees ! And it's not like they are looking for MJ too hard in this area anyways. Even with the cooler weather that has plagued most of MN my plants want to put all their energy into fan leaves and branches despite being full Indica. Luckly it hasnt frosted here but my Sativas finished kinda premie and tasted poor. Weird weather here has made this years crop a little funky, still havent gotten this Outdoor grow stuff down pat yet! A few insects, some sunburns and deer problems but all together a good year for my Indy's!

I noticed in your harvest pics that you use garbage bags and an old duffel bag. I used to use that type of stuff for my harvest until I bought a mesh decoy bag for duck hunting off ebay for $25. The ventilation is better, much more durable than a trash bag, can be worn on your back, and fits more bud.

stringing her out a little longer......... had a frost recently but we're back up the 80's again.... frost did a little leaf damage and we're getting uglier looking and I love it.......... buds keep getting fuller......

The Ak 47 was a freebie from Irie Vibe. With every order they send a free ten pack of beans and this was from them and I wanna say the breeder was Blazing Pistileros, but it wasn't released for sale that I'm aware of. As for the KG x AWW, I had an excellent female ratio of out a ten pack of beans, I got 7 ladies. Most of them appear to be a relatively stable balance of the two strains, but the 5th pic posted from the top seems to be leaning more heavily to the KG side. I can't recommend this strain enough. I actually just got more in the mail today. Plans to make my own feminized beans from this in the future purely for commercial cropping purposes. As for the growth, you can skip back to page one and follow them from the first week or so. They were germed in Mid March and placed in my greenhouse with supplemental lighting. I grew them to 12" and placed them outside on 4-15 (give or take a few days). They were then sexed outdoors. The largest of these should be in the multiple pound range, which is prime for MN.

The duffel bag is an Army issue #2 and is actually about four feet tall and I can fit ALOT of bud in there. I can also fit it on my back with straps. The trash bag was simply because I had one in the trunk. Thanks for the tip though, I'll have to check that out

those duffel bags are amazing. you can ALWAYS fit one more thing in them. cheap, too!
what kind of trimmer is that? one of the biggest problems i'm anticipating with my grow plan for next year is the final harvest...i will have nowhere to take the plants to either dry or trim them, so i'm going to have to trim in the field and pack the whole harvest out in one shot to put in a drybox. do you think you could do 20 plants in a day (by yourself) with something like that?

Man, I'm trying to figure out why my plants were all damaged beyond recovery by that frost we had mid september, and everybody else's look just fine. I went out expecting to harvest some serious weight and I come to find a bunch of shriveled brown fan leaves all hanging limp around colas that looked the same as they did 2 weeks prior... All 8 plants went to hash. Duluth area.

Well, from here on out, the weather appears to be very accomodating. A real Indian Summer. Temps in the 60's-70's into the middle of October and beyond. I can harvest anytime now, but wanna maximize my plants. Hunters have me sketched since the surrounding vegetation has begun to shrink back exposing the plants more and more. Still very thick terrain though.

Early smoke reports of the KG x AWW are that it's very hard hitting. I left a bud in the greenhouse and it sped dry in 24 hrs. Not expecting it to be very potent in the least because of this drying method and boy was I wrong. It had such a debilitating head high that I had to take one movie out of the DVD player because I was fighting a losing battle to understand the story line. At this point, a cartoon would have been too much to follow. Very effective...... now after a proper dry and cure, I expect much greater things.




SdY183- Yeah, it sure gets the job done. I got it at a garage sale for two bucks, can't beat it. The trimmer is a Trim Pro and I recommend it a great deal. But no, you would be rather unlikely to get that many plants trimmed in one reasonable days work. I could likely do three or four of the largest of the plants above or six regular sized plants in ten hours. Of course my hand is injured and this slows me a little. But not 20 in a day, no way.

Here's a link to this Ebay store. Seems like they always have auctions on these that end for anywhere from $200-250, cheaper than the buy it now option. If they're still doing the auctions in mid-winter (off-season), I bet you could snag one of these for much cheaper.

sickleg- We had a deep frost hit here ten days back, but only had a single plant really affected........... and it's still doing decent enough actually. But I'm talking there was a THICK layer of frost on every plant too. Sorry to hear that this happened to you.

hahaha i guess i underestimated the harvest process by an order of magnitude....looks like i've got a lot more planning than i thought. should be a fun challenge though. Thanks for the info :)

some plants can handle it and some cant i have about 10 different kinds out some i lost and some look fine I have some blue berry that the branches exploded it looks like also it helps not to put them in the middle of a bigger field then the frost really fucks with them I know you have lots of pine trees in your area next time put them in a smaller area with pine trees around them that seems to help because I have two plots one i put in a field like area and another with lots of big trees and pine on the south side of them and they are the same kinds in both areas frost didnt even kill a leaf im not an expert just leting you know that im close to your area and what is working for me
