Hey I read your post on WOH about adding an airstone

You've got a unique passive setup and I would let it run it's course, if nothing else just to establish a baseline.

I'll be honest with you, I didn't think your set up would work when you 1st presented it at WOH. But I can see that with your attention and clean environment, you're pulling it off well. I know I couldn't maintain a set-up like yours.

Your girls are doing really well now, I'd finish the run without adding a new variable.

Just my opinion, keep up the good work.

thanks mate, thats what i started this thread for, to get the opinions of experienced growers like yourself as i go, im in new territory and i really want this grow to come off, im done with soil and the coco is too much to water everyday, so i came up with this after thinking alot about the autopot system which is pricey.
the original idea was with no airstone to keep it simple and i was thinking i would need multiple stones in there for the area of the tray, i have had a spare pump ready in case they tell me they need it but my theory was that the coco will wick water. and hold air, and the res means i can use coco (been wanting to for ages) and still only see the grow every three days. with the autopot method using an airstone i thought i would have to as well but i see no signs as of yet.
you have made me think again now, i like that, if i put a stone in now i will have to continue to do so and im busy making this perpetual  and i wont know if the girls can make it without the airstone
i have a tray 2 weeks behind these og, i will put the stone in there and wait and see what happens with the og ,back to the plan A lol

cheers for the advice and the kind words :peace:

it seems my pics from day 34 have been taken down, idk what happened but since riu have been having issues with pics this is the only way i can get images up, i hope they dont delete these ones

i was alerted last time i was at my grow that my ph meter may be out quite a bit, my clones were showing signs of bad ph so i ordered a new 1 and a ppm meter, the ph pen came today and when i tested the res it read 8.2, my other tray was 8.5 and my cuttings were at 8 and 8.5, thank god for the cuttings as i would have been unaware because the hempys look better than ever lol, they show no real signs of lockout. i have read that hempys dont need the ph checked but i thought that to be nonsense and ignored it, but now idk, the ph must have been out for some time like maybe a week or longer looking at the clones.
i cleaned the tray and flushed them through and set the res at 6.0 , i just hope my clones are all ok lol

I dont see any pics for day 37 if you had posted some? My clones are looking a lil off as well. I might get a new ph pen or the tip replacement for what I have..

Are there certain strains that dont respond well to a single cola?
that should be a thread in itself lol, i have been doing sogs with seeds for some time and i think you have a better chance of a good single cola plant from seed, im just getting back into cloning now and i have never tried sog with clones yet

sorted the pics, riu is playing games :?

I have some clones now that need to be potted. I added nutes to my aerocloner and they looks shiity now for some reason. I have a few (5) seed starts that could try as a single cola. I thought about grabbing a few 2 liter crates from behind the local store to hold 2 ltr bottles

Wow that's a huge difference in ph meters. And I'm really surprised you don't have any def signs with a ph of 8. Keep a close eye out, using the new meter, it may be off a little the opposite way. Ph change of 2.0 is pretty major.

My ph meter is that bad and is will change tomorrow or next use. The store I got it from told me it was in need of calibration. I let them do it (I already tried) and they said its fine now. Went home and it was off by around 2 as well as confirmed by my ph drops. They should have been honest and told me no return instead of letting me kill my plants. Oh well you live you learn...

it took me an hour and a half to get my head round it , i tested both in ph 10 buffer and adjusted them both to 10, but the old 1 was playing up last week after i dropped it in the water but i thought i had fixed it, it was jumping about up and down but it put itself right so i continued with it but the next time i looked in on them i saw my clones were off colour and yellowing. the new pen nailed the readings straight away but the old 1 was still taking too long to find the ph

it fucked my head up firstly that they look healthy and 2nd that my clones were even alive , is it true you dont really have to bother with ph then?

supposedly outdoor needs no ph'ing so maybe this is similar?

my trays of clones took a hit as a result of high ph, my converted nft cloner took more of a hit than the bubbler and they were lower ph than the bubbler

Man that sux!!

I hope you get it sorted!

My Grapr Krush mom looks like she has a ph issue as well, and the transplant isnt helping either.
I just flushed her today and hope that helps!

they will all be ok i think , after i changed every res in the place out  and all mediums flushed, the clones have started popping roots out all over the placeso everything should be fine, i just hope that the clones i put in flower a few weeks ago weren't too stressed out, the big girls are relatively unscathed
