Been using it for years and love the benefits to the soil and plant. As goten stated it is great for the soil, feeding microbes and adding Calcium and Mag to the soil both needed for healthy plants. Many of the commercial nute companies that offer these promise you "anything for all the money in your wallet" not trying to piss off sponsors, have molasses as a base or main ingredient. In addition to feeding the soil the roots are able to absorb some of the sugars directly through the roots. Used as a foliar spray the goodies are quickly taken into the stoma and used by the plant immediately, cation on the dosage when used as a foliar spray, but very beneficial.
I am enclosing a link for use of molasses, the benefits and what to watch out for. Just general use unsulfared molasses, 1 tbs per gallon of water works great and can be used throughout the growth of your plants. One last thing you can buy it in the store a small bottle for last time in the States it was about $3 a bottle or you can go to a feed store and buy ag molasses used in animal feed for much less.
