Molasses in pump-free DWC?

Hey everybody, (and we don't need any dr. Nick jokes either:))

I have a stealth hydro setup and the plants roots are well established in the reservoir. I have taken out the water pump and the only other thing in there are two airstones.

Now i have heard molasses is a no go for hydro, but im thinkin, thats gotta be for the pumps right? Maybe i could see a weaker solution because of uptake speed, but that even seems unlikely due to the fact the plant can be given molasses throughout its life, and if it can't use the sugar it simply won't uptake it...i think.

Any info would be appreciated by me and the growing number of stealth users here, not to mention all the other assorted DWCers.

Thanks in advance.

it is not just the pumps that molassas messes up.
Too many people have warned us about molassas in hydro.
What about attracting ants?

Molasses helps to activate the soil and gives the microbes there something to feast on...

in hydro..the only benefit..IF it doesn't gunk evertything up (and folks here have had nightmares with pure molasses) would be iron, magnesium and calcium...and you can get those (and should already be getting those) in a good fert or in a good micronute additive yer already using.

If you wanna introduce some carbs/sugars..i'd spend the few bucks it takes to buy something premade...Sweet..Carboload..Karbo Boost...Sweet leaf..etc and use that because while you may still have problems..chances are they won't be as immediate as adding molassess right in the res....

good luck

Sweet is the shit! I like the berry myself but others seem to like the citrus. Either way, never had an issue with it in hydro...
