Molasses & Other Flowering Nutrients

Hey guys,

i tend to use thrive nutrients (high in nitrogen) throughout there growth and have recently realised this could effect the taste of the buds, so i have decided to only use the thrive through the vegetation process this year. I have heard that molasses could be the way to go during flowering. I was just wondering if anyones tried molasses before and how i would go about applying it to the plants, also if there are any other suggestions of products i could use during flowering would be much appreciated

I have yet to try molasses myself..but hear nothing but good things. I think its all about increasing the suguars and sweeting,,as well as trace elements. Theres others who can fill you in on molasses, but If I remember right its half a tablespoon to a gallon of water..thats just me esitmating from what I can remeber. sorry. but on the bloom nutes side I USE BIO BIZZ's range of bio bloom and top max. the bloom is the fert,high in P,with K and N, and the micronutes..... and the topmax is a flower stimulant. It creates more bud sites and bud size. I didnt use it for my first,used in second and saw dramatic difference. Lot more bud at the end...
. I grow in soil,but bio bizz can be ued in hydro or soil. Its good stuff,not the cheapest but is high quailty.Its nice organic soluble nutes,
so my advice is get a flower fert and atleast one flower stim. I'm going to try the molasses when I have money to buy some.

What is "Thrive " nutrient you speak off? Molassas can be used as a cal/mag supplement its rich in both look at the label , Molassas is beneficial in Organics because it feeds micro life in the soil which in turn break down elements in the soil making them more readily availible for up take . Does it affect the actual taste ? It hasn,t been documented but I use it and all my meds taste sweet but they have been properly cured also .

In short molassas can be used for various reasons , 1tbsp is fine dont go over 2 tbsp also take into consideration how much cal/mag is in your soil and nutrients ,it is possible to OD on it . I personally used it all the way through 1-2 tbsp per gallon .
It stinks its very thick and it helps to use hot water to get it to dilute and mix good.

hes talking about 'Super Thrive' I believe. Could be wrong.. but thats what I would think hes talking about.

as far as molasses goes.. I use it. It's really used to "enhance" the plants metabolism. You should only use the brands that do NOT have sulfur in it.

Personally, I use 'Grandma's' brand of molasses. I don't know if I would use ONLY molasses during flowering though. I mean, its up to you.. but what

I'm saying basically.. is that molasses is not a nutrient substitute. It's more of an additive.

p.s. - forgot toe mention how to use the molasses. All you do.. is drop in one tbs. spoon of molasses into your water/nutrient mix (or just use molasses and water). Basically put the molasses into your water that u use for watering.. and shake it up to mix it up and the water will turn more of a darker color.. bam, your ready to go. Just use the mixture like you would use regular water.

Make sure you get Blackstrap Unsulphured Molasses. That's very important. You can use 1 tbs. per gallon every other watering. I usually start using molasses during the veg cycle because it's an excellent chelating agent and it feeds the microbes and other helpful little bugs in your soil. Towards the end of flowering I use it in every watering but 1 tsp. per gallon instead of 1 tbs.. Works great. My plants are healthy.

NIce plants there man ! Yeah Super Thrive is an additive for some one unexperianced I,d suggest Organic liquids , I personally use Age Old Organics .

ya you can e their whole life. why not..in veg we still have microbial life in the soil so feed them. thats about all its for. not the sugar as most think. plant cant uptake that form of it

i used molasses in my last grow. it definatly gives the buds a different taste a good one at that. ive had nothing but good reviews. i personally dont smoke,so i couldnt really tell you the taste, one guy told me it was like eating maple syrup

found molasses just wondering if blue label molasses is any good?? because it doesnt say if it got suphur in it or not

thanks for that i googled it too but i was still a bit unclear wether it had sulphur

also like to find out if they are unsulphured or not. nothing on jar or company website

order black strap molasses and it has nothing to do for the taste, the sugars in it feed the microbes in the soil which break it down to where the plant can absorb it, like they say happy soil is a happy plant

Or you could not pay 30 dolars for a bottle of budcandy and invest in unsulphured or hi brix molasses at a fraction of the price and same benefits.. minus the marketing of course

im ALMOST PRETTY SURE that plants dont drink up sugars. they produce their own. the whole market is a gimmick.

Plants can and do absorb sugars through the root system. Here is a Texas study which was posted here awhile ago and is a very good read, there are also many other studies available.
