I read it feeds the microbes. I haven't started it yet. That's why im here. Ive only known outside growing since 1986. Im a total newbie at indoors. The plan was Mammoth p, and then use the sweet sticky during flower to feed the microscopic critters to help the roots absorb as much nutes as possible. This is a no go for coco?
It's not necessary. The roots exude everything the microbes need. Adding sugars to your system just invites the evil microbes you don't want.

I've never tried Mammoth P, but a friend of mine uses it and swears by it. Aother friend uses Tribus and gets good results as well. Both are pricey af. I just run a single strain, bacilus amyloliquefacien, and get healthy roots every time. No sugars.

I was also worried about attracting ants so I filled my drain trays with diatomaceous earth, I watered my plants away from the tent so that I didn't drip into the DE. Old house and didn't get anymore ants than I didn't already have.

I think its wise for me to stick with what i know at first. Gradually try new stuff. I use Jacks Hydroponic 321 fertilizer and nothing else for my outdoor stuff. And can honestly say I have never had a bad yield or had any problems. Me jumping in to this other stuff sounds like trouble. That Jacks is awesome stuff. But its hot. 5-12-26 part A and B is 15-0-0. Once every 10 days with Epsom salt is my routine. The plan WAS start them off with Advanced Nutes. Grow micro and bloom and then start the jacks with enzymes. But im gonna stick with what works

My next setup will definitely be hydro drip. It just seems easier, less expensive and more productive. I have confidence in my growing abilities. Just never grown indoors. I may do an experiment, since I have the extra materials. coco only vs. Fox farm ocean and see what happens. but ive never dreamed it would cost so much to get a from scratch grow off the ground. rdwc seems far more affordable
