Molasses

Molasses. Derived from sugar cane. Its a natural sweetener. More carbohydrates around the late weeks of flowering will increase yields, something about maturing makes it start going into its carbohydrate reserves and thrives from it. Can be used throughout. Best to use it in an organic kind of tea. Molasses and guano steeped for a few days would make a good fertilizer mix if you're not into using brand names.

I smoked my friends bud which had a mix and molasses was used and couldn't really tell the difference between mine which hadn't had any molasses.

It can increase yields by feeding microorganisms associated with roots and soil and that's about it. The plant even produces its own carbs, which are promptly delivered to the roots for use by these microorganisms. The plant will not just directly suck up everything its roots are in, that's not how it works, and it cant have much direct affect on bud flavor.
