Mold on my new seeding?

Recently my seed broke through the soil and I am now on about day 4 and it looks like there is mold on the very tip of the plant, it hasn't sprouted leaves yet but it doesn't look good.

It is white little fuzzy hairs and I am wondering if this is mold and if there is any way to get rid of it or is this plant done for?

If its too late to save how can I avoid this on my next trip around?

Thanks

with out pics hard to tell, but alot of seeds after they shed their shell look like they have after birth on them, that just may be what you have, let it grow for a while you have nothing to lose, just give it light water and air.

Well this happened to me on my last grow. It only sprouted on half, b/c I used two different soils. So I think it's a soil thing. Anyways, I plucked the mold off the top soil a couple times before it sprouted, and after that it was ok. That is until I started to grow shrooms. I have no idea how to get rid of them. All I know is that they come around when it's very damp, and warm. Like after a good watering. So keep the water minimal, and the temps on the cooler side, and you'll be fine : )

EDIT: After re-reading your post, it sounds like we have two diff things. So just disregard this : )

Great guys thanks calmed me down abit...I am going to return this warm mist humidifer I think it could also be the reason for it and the fact that i spray a baggie and put it over my soil to keep it moist....those could be the two problems.

you dont want to baby them, let only the strong survive, weak plants become headaches, just read a lot on the forums here and you will be set,and if you really want success purchase 2 tickets to the cayman islands and send them to fdd and his wife.
