i dont understand the mold issue folks have to be honest. not sure what can be done about it now but before hanging something to dry in a closet or wherever wipe the entire area down with some simple green and improve air flow

are they dry now? I would assume they are...Not a whole lot you can do at this point I don't think...And as you have found, proper drying is as important as anything. Maybe you can trim the moldy stuff off? If the plants were still wet you could do a peroxide solution bath, like is done for powdery mildew . Or maybe an hour in the sun???

Humidity and enviroment play a big part when it comes to mould.

I had a leaky roof which caused mould in the ceiling cavity ( Flat Roof ) in my flower room, and got devo'd with mould on 1 run. If the basement is damp and mouldy, that needs drying out and Ozonating and frequent air exchange, or dry it somewhere not in the basement. Sun drying bud is not something i would do. I hang my plants whole for 2 weeks at 55% humidty and 22 degrees.

Them mould spores are persistant.
