Moldy Bud

Just harvested my plant. Great success :-P

Unfortunately, I noticed what I believe to be mold and mold spores on the cola.

I have attached a picture, please check it out & let me know if this is mold.
Has this happened to anyone before, and if it is mold, is there anything I can/should do?

hard to say from your pic. it happened to me before and it sucks major ass. if the leaves next to suposed rot get pulled off easily you have a stinker. i noticed it before harvest, growing outside when humidity skyrocketed. anyway, get rid of the moldy parts and the rest should be good to go

If it is mold he has there, would it not be reasonable to cut a chunk off the cola surrounding it? He doesn't have to scrap the whole cola does he?

cut out the bad part. cut nice and deep, and watch the bid for the next few days... shuld be ok unless it spread... always CL:EAN yer hands before handliong plants. and before placing them on table disinfect the surfaces, too

I wouldn't risk it, just cut a bit around and below it and just toss it and hope it doesn't make a comeback. Be very clean about it, clean everything before and after to make sure none of the spores could have stuck to anything.

i coulda swore mold was from moisture not from "not being extra clean" .. i could see from jarring it too early while the bud is still wet to cause mold, or moisture on the bud itself while on the plant would cause mold...

I wouldn't eat moldy food no matter how hard it was cooked (unless it is mold like cheese). Are there any good sources of info (study, articles, good forum thread) about safe ways of using marijuana that has mold?
