Moldy Questions.....Yuk!!!!

Hello to all and thank you in advance for your help.....

Got a big surprise when I got home from work today.......mold on my plant!!!!
Here's what I found, and what I did:

A bud located near the bottom of the main cola was starting to (from behind or near main stem) become covered with mold...the white, fuzzy kind. I actually noticed it a couple of days ago but at that time I thought it was incredible trich density in that particular area.

I started to panic :-? so I cut off the main cola just below the mold affected bud.

The plant in question is a Red Dragon. Breeder says max 9 weeks of flowering and today is almost 7 1/2 weeks into that. The plant does look close to being done.

So....2 questions:

#1 The part I cut off.....is it garbage? I surgically removed the mold-covered bud and I don't see any more mold on it.....but I don't have microscopic vision. It is definitely immature, no question about it but I think that there are enough milky trichs for it to be worth something if it's not damaged. I don't want to hurt myself or anyone else so I'm leaning toward pitching it. Is there any way to tell if it's safe?

#2 Is it okay to keep the rest of the plant in the grow room with my other girl? I don't see any more mold right now and plan on watching them closely. I have a dehumidifier running in the same small area as the girls...it's been going for over a month. That's why I was kinda surprised by this. It has been VERY humid in my area though since the later part of May.....greenhouse-like!!

Thanks again for your help!!!!!!!

Bring the humidity down, and if you removed the mold parts you can put it in with the other females, but watch it closely pretty frequently.
