Get blackstrap, I could only find Grandma's which is different but still works. You can get blackstrap at healthfood stores.

in the UK molassas is called Black Treacle made by lyons comes in a red tin. do not use golden syrup made by same company difference is tin color you want red tin not the green one.

tip for using: this stuff sticks too anything, warm up your spoon in very hot water before scooping. it will leave the spoon more easy and less will be left on spoon and more in your water.

What you want is unsulphured molasses. It doesn't have to be blackstrap (harder to find, less popular). Brand does not matter, just be sure it's unsulphured. It should be on your grocer's shelf. :D

Why, look! We ran out of Grandma's and now I've got some Brer Rabbit. I eat it right out of the jar on a spoon.

giants food has unsulphered .. its 3.49 a jar.. i just got some for my flowering plant in 3rd week
