this has got to be a joke, they are proposing cheating and having more than one lover is ok. this is bullshit!!!!

(CNN) -- Kristen Stewart, Ryan Phillippe, LeAnn Rimes, Jude Law, Mark Sanford and Bill Clinton. What do they have in common?
Many are quick to label a person who strays from his or her marriage or relationship as a "cheater," but it's really not that simple. It's time for our culture to wake up and smell the sex pheromones: monogamy is not natural for many, or probably even most, humans.
With people living longer than ever before, a greater tolerance toward the human impulse to experience sexual variety is needed. Whether a person succeeds at being sexually monogamous depends as much on biology as environment.

Why is it bullshit? If it's science it's not bullshit. What's odd, is you're not quoting the entire Bible, exclaiming, "this is bullshit!!!!"

If people were naturally monogamous then we wouldnt need to constantly remind ourselves / be told that cheating is bad. Cheating would be unheard of.

My VIP membership card to the ' basement ' at the strip club is getting pretty wore out and faded from years of continuous use, and there's no more room on the back for renewal stamps.

I don't buy the whole increased life expectation BS, but yeah humans were and are hardwired to mate with the best possible candidates available at the time, and men in particular with as many women as possible. As your station increases and you gain more food/wealth/whatever, you gain access to a higher station of mate, biology kicks in and you want to upgrade.

I do not possess these biological imperatives. I do not desire children, I do not desire to upgrade mates, and I do not desire to mate with many women. However, I accept I am the exception and not the rule.

the only person who deserves respect in this thread is you. its difficult to accept but personally as humans we are better than cheating on our spouses and g/f's . i found someone and went straight for her and only her. never once did i try to find anyone else while i was with her.

Well no, you did follow the rule.. Unless you think your partner is the same as everybody else (which would mean you could easily be a polygamist), you found the best person for you.

Congratulations ;) :bigjoint:

Same goes for you.. You're in the same boat as everybody else, monogamist or not. You were attracted to somebody, followed your instincs, and now you're happy. Polygamists do the same thing.. just with more people.

I think the important thing is to just be honest with your partner. If you're a polygamist, you're probably better off with another polygamist, if you're a monogamist, you're better off with another monogamist (general unwritten rule).

Being a polygamist doesn't make you a cheater.

I think you nailed it right there, being honest. As long as there is honesty in what you expect and are willing to give in a relationship, then you will probably have a good one.

If I can be monogamous, than anyone can. Of course, I tested out a lot of vaginas, before finding the one that makes me happy.

I choose to be monogamous for the same reason as I do most other things though -- the boss lady tells me it's the right thing to do, and to prove I'm morally superior to those with guilt, I do the right thing. Monogamy isn't "natural." After you've procreated, though, "spreading your wild oats" becomes less an imperative.

I bow to you oh superior one ROFLMAO!! Minne you kill me and I'm glad Shoe is your soulmate.

Although I must admit I'm sort of bi-polar on the entire super ego thing. Sometimes there is not a shit given and other times there is way to much shit given. It depends on my referential frame, sigh. I wish I could dial that in better! I know there is a middle path but it keeps eluding me.

Thanks for sharing I always learn from your posts and it won't let me rep them all! LOL
