Monopotassium Phosphate

This is super high in phosphate and potassium. But just googling I rarely see it mentioned for hydroponics/aquaponics. Anyone know why? Seems to be perfect as far as P and K goes, water soluble, etc.

Thanks!

Great stuff. I use MKP to start flower and then potassium sulphate mid to late bloom.

Why do you switch out of curiosity?

I introduce MKP to my nutrient solution (Jack's 5-12-26, Calcium Nitrate and Cal-Mag) starting at week 2.5 of flower, then dial the PPM back of the solution as a whole a bit come the latter couple of weeks of flower.

I’m under the impression that it needs the high phosphorous for flower initiation and beginning development so I use MKP weeks 1-3 but at week 4 or so The amount of P in your base nute is enough and it’s the boosted K that’s needed. So use potassium sulphate weeks 4-8.
