More a question about my electric bill than growing...

I'm not asking how much it will cost to use a certain amount of wattage.

I already did those calculations with my bill, and it was around $60 a month.

Its my brothers house, but he has one of those plans basically where the electric bill is not consistent from month to month, they are suppose to charge just for what is used that month.

Now, we used the ac the exact same amount last month, and nothing else was really that different, our bill was $180.

So using the ac the same this month, and everything else being an average day energy wise, I figured I'll just add $60 to our bill, and it should be $240 instead of $180.

The bill comes yesterday, its for $28. WHAT THE FUCK.

I was told how they're suppose to come read the meter every month, but if they don't sometimes they can under estimate or overestimate, and will just fix it on your next bill... but that still makes no sense in this situation. You're telling me the meter man underestimated our bill by $210 this month?

I just do not understand the fact that we used more energy this month, and our bill was a joke. Am I gonna be charged like $500 next month?

Does anyone here understand the electric company? This has officially confused the shit out of me.

i think that they could have been overcharging you, not just for one month, but rather for several, and maybe they finally got in and read the meter, and when they compared numbers, they saw that you actually only owed that lil amount.. trust me, if they were just estimating your bill, they surely would be overestimating it and not under, so in my eyes, the $28 bill is probably correct, and if they happen to read the meter next month, it should probably be back up in the $100 or so range..
just my two cents worth though..

They charge you per kilowatt hour, once I get to 500 kilowatt hours, they up the rate and charge me stupid fees, I really hate this bullshit

Most readers are wireless so the reading should be correct. Unless somehow a decimal place was misplaced. Read your bill. It should show the starting reading and the ending reading. Compare it with your meter. Also, most power companies charge on a "tier" plan. The more you use the more the unit rate is. It jumps up when you reach a certain level.

mine runs around 300 a month and i dont have a grow house yet. something about the pool pump a lil too long per day that it should only do 30 mins instead of 5 hours pumpin per day.
