More about clones! Who else tries to clone these?

So. I'm just curious to see who all out there takes every growth shoot they trim off and try to root it. I have gotten ones that were less than an inch long to root and grow. Is this something that many of you do? Or am I just having a good run at cloning and getting better at it? Lol.
I have a few threads along the same subject of cloning. But it's always nice for Newbies to see this stuff so I try to post it. So if your someone who wants to practice cloning. Or an experienced cloner that does the same thing. Post some advice too if you want. This is a place for people to come learn. Or share experience or heck even if you just want to chit chat a bit. Idc. Here's some pics of some of the tiny trimming I have already roots and some that are in rooting process now

Those tiny little growth shoots that most toss. I cut the so they are still half way attached to the fan leaf stem and then dip the end I to powder rooting hormone and stick the whole shoot and fan leaf in COCO COIR and usually it still grows a good bit cus it has plenty of energy/Nutes from the fan leaf yet. So even without roots they all grew fast still. Usually once the fan leafet is depleted by then they have a few small roots and can survive. If the bottom swells up but no roots yet. Brake the fan leaf stem off of it and in my experience when they aren't rooting quick enough but the stem swelled up like it wanted to. When you snap the fan leaf stem off the rest of the way from the clone stem. Most times within 24hrs of seperating. A few small roots shoot out usually within a day after seperating But does anyone else try to root every little clipping they can?

Lol. Good point. I needed all the clones I could get so it actually helped me. Some are growing super fast for being so small. Others. Not so fast yet. But I don't have that many plants yet. I started with 4. Then 3. And one was an auto so two I got trimming from and then planted my last few seeds and got trimming from them too so I went for two plants and 3 seedling to now I have like 2 in flower and 12 or so others. A few almost ready and others are still small clones

I've had a couple that were maybe 1/2 inch above the neoprene collar and I couldn't possibly clone everything I trim off I would need a warehouse or pole barn.

Lmao. That's funny. Does anyone enjoy doing the same thing tho. Trying to root the near impossible. ? I'm proud of myself. I finally got a top to root That's something that I was having trouble with and disappointed in myself for not figuring it out cus i was getting good at rooting the smallest little trimming. And I mean the smallest. The other day I trimmed the hydro plant up and two of the cuttings were 1/2 an inch long. I even left the fan leaves on them. I stuck them in powder and put them in the soil coco and the next two days they kept growing and the one grew into a 2 inch long cutting and ready to root almost. But I just find it neat to watch how nature can save itself practically I find it fascinating Just was checking to see if anyone else liked playing around with it. And yes your right. I will not be taking near as many clones when I have more plants to tend to and less room. My veg cabinet is already falling apart and it full now. So I have to rebuild atleast the door frame supports

I love trying to root the impossible ! I have a diy bubble cloner my success rate has to be 90%. I used to clone everything, absolutely everything now I have a couple momma plants so I can choose my clones its super nice picking height though.

It's possible to root tiny cuttings, but they tend to die of mold or whatever before they root though. I like ones with nice woody stems. For cloning advice, I use fairly small containers that hold about 6 cuttings each. I put a clear container over it and there's some open spaces at the corners because the top one has curved corners and the bottom one has square corners. I tried covering the holes some with tape but it caused mold so I went back to open. Apparently you need a fair amount of ventilation.

For light I use one 13w soft white over each container, with reflectors, and a fair distance away, like probably 10-12". After they root in a week I take the top containers off but keep them under the same lights for a week before going to full lights, though I do gradually bring them closer to the 13w lights too. I use pure perlite for the rooting and deionized water, only adding nutes after roots start growing, to avoid algae growth. I use those little red plastic shot cups, with one hole drilled in the middle of the bottoms with a pointy knife, and a layer of water in the container high enough to get into the holes.

Air flow is crucial I have a little 8 inch fan that blows directly on the little 10 gallon air pump and the 3.5 gallon bucket. I pH my water and put some gen hydro root grow solution. Works pretty incredible I really can't believe how simple cloning is with bubble cloner. I just started cloning this year and wow bubble cloning is the way to go in my opinion

Here's something I just noticed. Some perlite is "enriched". I got some Miracle Grow perlite and didn't notice it said enriched and gives the amounts of the 3 primary nutrients as 0.0 something% each, like 0.04% N. Now that doesn't sound like much but when I put clones into a container of the perlite and watered it with normal nute solution the runoff read over 4000 ppm. Kind of high, huh? So watch out for the enriched perlite.

Kool. Glad to hear others play around and enjoy it. I've tried the bubble cloner. I didn't have much luck with it And I tried a mist cloner but the pump was squealing and drove us insane so I stopped using it and got coco. Ever since I've used the powder and coco or coco/soil even. I've had about 90+% rate of success. The 10% is mainly just tops tho and a few that just to small

I started 3 plants and they were my last 3 seeds.and now have a dozen clippings that will carry me into the next few grows because since k have so many. A few of them I may veg for a long time so I can train them and play around. And a few may be males yet. The afghani and the blue dr X sour de. Idk if is female. The others were feminized I have the blue dream in now so will no soon. And the afghani I just rooted a top for it and have it in flower now to show me the sex of both of those. If the BDxSD is then I'll just toss the two clones. That rooted

And yeah. I try to stay away from Mircale Grow for anything. I just don't see the point It's one of those things your paying for a Name more. It's good stuff. Just not for us. I also tried the perlite n water and didn't like it. The Coco as been the easiest way I've found that works for me. The bubble cloner I just didn't have any luck with. I plant on rebuilding the Mist Cloner when I get a new pump. I wanna try it again.

And for the tiny clones I root. I do see why people don't that grow for production. They take FOREVER to start growing. The better clones take off like wildfire when they get roots and they start growing. The tiny little 1/2 clippings have rooted over a week ago and still haven't barely grown at all. They are picking up now. But I see why many toss them. I may put a few outside somewhere to see if I can start one outside. But I'll wait so i don't shock it

Quick question for you guys. Yesterday my buds were normal and just loose and airy yet. I watered them with plain rain water with no nutrients for the first time in a while. Now today I looked at them and the top bud. The biggest and densest so far. Grew a bit odd and actually grew A LOT in 24hrs. But not in a good way I don't think. If this was the first few weeks of flower then sure. But 3weeks the most until harvest and they decide to have a big growth spurt. Lol. Good for bud size or yeild but not for density. This may make it worse I'm thinking. I tried another bud today cus I needed some medicine my nerves were bad. And this stuff is already just as good as anything I buy locally Just tastes like shit right now. And doesn't smell like cannabis much so it's not a good bag appeal for sure. But for personal I could care less. I just wanted some nice dense buds too. Look at the pic. What do you think is going on
