More cfl help needed. DIY

REP FOR WHOEVER GIVES ME INSTRUCTIONS THAT WORK!
Slaps for whoever gives me instructions that kill me!!

Well ive got 2 42watt cfl's, the only problem is i cant seem to find the right socket for them anywhere, they are not the push n twist type or the screw in ones, they have got 4 pins.
Basically i need to find a (fairly safe but im not a monkey so it can be abit risky) way to connect the bulbs to a plug so they can be used. For my other cfl I soldered the connector bit at the base of the lights to a wire with a 13A plug on the end, but they were the simple push & twist ones with only 2 connector.

Ive added a picture of the 4 pin ones so u know what im talking about.

If anyone could help me out hear that would be great! as it is hindering my grow op because i cant use all my bulbs.

i dont think you can just wire them up? as thay need a separet ballast? just like an ft,,not like an cfl?

From what i understand they have ballasts built into the base of the light, the other 2 that i wired up are working fine and have been for the past day and a half.

Its so hard to find what im looking for where i live!

dont think these have the ballast built in do they?
inside the normal CFLs ive pulled to bits the actual bulb part connects to the ballast with 4 wires.
im guessing youll need this and these dunno what else

check your local lighting suply shops they might have a socket that fits those bulbs or check the net

why not just buy regular CFLs? Heres some wireing info

been round all my local shops and cant find much lol, cant think of any lighting shops around hear but im going to a different town tomorrow so ill have a look around there.

There are two main parts in a CFL: the gas-filled tube (also called bulb or burner) and the magnetic or electronic ballast. Electrical energy in the form of an electrical current from the ballast flows through the gas, causing it to emit ultraviolet light. The ultraviolet light then excites a white phosphor coating on the inside of the tube. This coating emits visible light. Shit, i dont know why i have been so dumb latley...of course the 42watt ones need a ballast, the ones that i wired up do have a ballast built in...lol i cant believe how obvious it is, the ones ive done are big and bulky at the top these ones clearly dont have anything like that.

dude you dont live near a damn walmart????? the only place i know of that wasnt close to a damn walmart was santa cruz cali and thats cause they dont want to support the corporate mother fuckers. but i do they are cheap as fuck they have cfl five packs for like 8 dollars with the ballast include but ace is cheaper...

nother question.....is there as many crackheads there as there is here in the states. incase you dont know how many i mean heres an analogy when you go to the hood and rent an apartment and see the cockroaches run for shadow when you turn on the light its like that with crackheads when the sun comes up here exept for they are kinda like ants too cause three of them will be carrying tvs and shit. i think we should make giant roach hotels for the crackheads in the ghetto. fucking tweakers.

Yer there are crackheads but it depends where you go, i mean if i go to the old market (a unused abandoned indoor market) im sure i will find about 5 rooms full of crackheads & alcoholics! When i lived in london there were allot on the street, but not so many around hear. Brighton streets are like a homeless museum lol, allot of the homeless people are crackheads or alcoholics...i feel sorry for some of them, every day being a constant struggle They always have there dog, sleeping blanket and bottle of cider lol

just been thinking, would it be possible/wise do you think to take a ballast off of one bulb and hook it up to another one? im thinking get another 20 watt with a ballast and then put it on the 28 watt one withought a ballast.

I really wana know how close we live to each other now lol but obviously due to the nature of this website we cant really get any more specific than south coast lol!
And ive learnt not to ask stuff like that aswell, makes you sound like a old bill lol

i reside in the us but am still sofar the only one ive seen on this web that lives or tells that they are anywhere near my state which i can believe cause the laws here are redicolous i could find and buy crack or coke all day if i was into blowing money and not having anything to show for it and i like food thank you, but pot is another story i know maybe five dealers in this county and thats it, in caLI i always new atleast five pot dealers on the block. people are more scared to smoke the herb here than they are to crack here....
