More lumens = faster plant growth regardless of K?

Hey all

Yea so I have a 600w HPS bulb 2100k 90k Lumens.
And I have a 600w MH bulb 6500k 51k Lumens.

My girl is 4 months old. I have been vegging with the MH and growth has been ok, but I was wondering if I switch over to the HPS will I get faster growth due to the higher lumens? Or will they equal out since 2100k is subprime for veg? I was pondering this because +40k lumens is a lot..

The blue spectrum of MH will yield a better grow, even tho it's less lumens, that's my belief, the HPS is more of a red spectrum best for bloom, tho you can veg with it, just less yield.

You need to calculate how many Lumens per sq ft you have.
off the top of my head 2000- 5000- 7000+ low end to high end, the more lumens the better the growth.
There is a point where the plant can't use anymore lumens I want to say 12,000 lumen but it might be lower.
You'd have to google that.

Raw lumens don't really matter as much as PAR or the photosynthetically active lumens, which are the ones the plant actually uses for photosynthesis. HPS might produce more total lumens per watt, but MH in general does produce more usable light.

Use both side by side. See what happens. I did and for me what happen was a clear. Hps all the way yield a lot more. Mh all the way was less but the quality was notably better. The conclusion that I interpreted was hps all the way then switch out your 600 or 1000 for a 600 or 1000 10k uvb for the last week. After using both, I prefer hps. But try it your self, and see what works for you.

The PAR value is engineered right into your Horticultural bulbs.
It's always Lumens per Sqr. ft. when you calculate how much light you need for your grow room.

The More Light the better- IMO
