I don't think America is applying itself. Outdoor growers, shame on you! If those rat bastards aren't finding a million plants a year (just as decoys alone) then we are clearly failing to keep up our half of the fight.

Disclaimer: To any rat bastard weed version of a truffle pig who might be reading this instead of looking for plants to steal, fuck you. While you're busy hunting the weed, me or someone like me is busy pleasing your wife. I sincerely hope that you die of aids, in a grease fire, alone, in the dark, on a bike...with lupus. No offense.

My reaction is mixed.

It's too bad all of those plants were destroyed.

But the big operations going on in National Forests are cartel grows. The cartels are the bad guys getting rich thanks to cannabis Prohibition.

And those grows are destructive to the area what with the toxic chemicals and irrigation lines and whatnot.

After the cartel asswipes harvest, they leave behind all sorts of garbage. They haul all of that shit in and leave it behind.

Plus, they are usually armed to protect the operation. So innocent hikers risk stumbling upon the operation.

what's with these goony LEO's always VASTLY over-estimating the value of plants seized in raids?

a BILLION dollars my ASS~!

I watched a national geographic documentary not too long ago and there was a segment where an indoor grow of 44 plants was raided..."officials estimate the value to be $150,000"

are these goons out of their fucking minds? Assume each plant provides a QP MAX (and you make $400/oz MAX)...that's 1,600/plant x 44 = $70,400

not like the grower would even get 4 oz's PER plant OR $400 PER oz

As I understand it, when estimating street value, the coppers use the weight of the entire plant and multiply that by the maximum price paid for the smallest amount of the dankest bud. The manipulated price is computed to the pound.

Pounds of plants seized multiplied by the 'price' for a pound equals street value.

They do it to pad their stats, which looks good come budget time.

I am all for the big cartel grows getting taken out.I hate seeing all of the equipment and violence all in the name of profit. But for the personal stash growers out there keep at it. either in your corner of the forest or the corner of your yard, keep that green growing and at least supplying yourself.

smoking your own harvest > buying bud

Fixed it for you. :-P

There is nothing wrong with profit in and of itself.

I have no empathy for the corrupt government and their scum dea agents. The only one causing all of these problems is the government itself by keeping cannabis illegal. We all know how medicinal cannabis is, so the pharmaceutical companies would be close to non existent with cannabis legal. They don't want people who actually THINK and use their brain so that's another main reason. If the fact that hemp is illegal isn't enough to show the clear scumbag intentions they have had all this time, then i don't know what is. Cannabis legal = No more " illegal cartels" growing "dangerous" operations like that and destroying land, No more cartel violence, Happiness, health, and peace. They are the main cause of all these problems yet they have the nerve to boast about their "success" from destroying the most medicinal plant in the world. I'll side with the cartels any day over this horrible government which has caused a mass genocide on it's own people by making cannabis illegal and selling/giving poison to the public.

We didn't lose those plants, we won't miss out on the product...it's just been rerouted through a land I like to call "Propaganda"

Imagine the money that would be freed up if they did away with the weed cops ! They could take the funds spent on eradication and apply the $$$ to feed our poor, repair roads, bridges, and infrastructure. Lay off the small personal use grower and this will allow our prisons to downsize. Its unimaginable to think that in a very bad WORLD economy that they waste our tax dollars on placing a person through the court system, then into the prison system for a 1/2 oz of weed! Here in Vermont a few months back they were allowing indviduals to apply with an application to open a Medical Weed operation for the measly sum of $2500 !!! This was a fee just to submit an application! I wouldnt go near anything that our cops can dig thier fat little friggin trigger happy cops into. Application---- open door to bust in!!

More than 578,000 cannabis plants, worth over $1 billion, have been uprooted from forests and national parks in a major operation in the western United States, the Justice Department said on Tuesday.

Telegraph

The two-month enforcement operation, which began July 1 in seven states – California, Arizona, Idaho, Nevada, Oregon, Utah and Washington – was led by the nation's anti-drug and forest authorities.

"Federal, state and local law enforcement in the seven states have eradicated more than 578,000 marijuana plants from public lands. The DEA estimates the value of this marijuana to be well over $1 billion," the Justice Department statement said.

Most of the illegal plantations were discovered in California, where "at least 484,000 marijuana plants" were seized in over 96 fields.

"Huge amounts of trash, miles of irrigation line, and many pounds of fertiliser and pesticides were removed from grow sites on public lands," the department said. Weapons were also found.

Fourteen people were arrested and charged in the Eastern District of California in connection with the illegal crops.
What a waste of tax dollars.
