Morning glories inside

Hey fellow RIU ers

I wanted to plant some morning glories in my flower cab (12/12 light cycle) but i am unsure if the lack of longer daylight hours will hinder them from vining up, i was going to make a trellis on the walls and plant them in small containers that fit into the 2x3 walls so they didnt take up any room and added a little color to my room.

so i guess my question is will morning glories "veg" under 12/12 lighting

and if they will how will i mantain them so they dont overgrow my room, i figured simple pruning the tops when they get too big would work...

thanks for your responses.

In my experience, morning glories are very hearty, and they can survive in all sorts of conditions. I've had them veg in 12/12 for sure, but I think they need at least 16 hrs of light to flower. You can guide the growth of the vines wherever you want them to go, or you can just trim them back If they're getting out of control.

thanks for the response.

that dosent seem to really make sense though most plant species that are phtoperiod dependant veg at longer light hours and flower during shorter light hours. morning glories are a fall bloomer and pack on vegatative growth for most of the long summer days.

either way i have started some and they should have sprouted by now. once they get going i will document my results in case anyone is interested.

I had a nice post typed up, but I guess I hit the wrong button to post.

You can sprout 12/12. Just like cannabis, and tomatoes, they will reach that age where they will start to flower.
