Most efficient veg period

I currently run two rooms, a 1000w flower room and a t5 setup for veg, only problem is is that I fell way behind on vegging, I just pulled the last plant out of my flower room but all my plants in veg are obviously not ready to flower and I don't have enough! I only have 4 plants in 3 gallons that will be ready for flower in a few weeks, I dint know why but the clones I took and have been growing are growing rediculously slow. They have been rooted for like a month and a half at least and they are still only like a foot at most and weak plants. What I really need to know is how I should fill up my room and flower, I don't want to waste an entire cycle on 4 3 gallon plants, and I can't transplant cause there in felt pots... Should I just take some more clones and as soon as they hit 3 gals flip them to flower? Or should I try and use smaller pots to get them filled out faster? Any help would be appreciated and I need some advice ASAP cause I'm just burning electricity at this point.

I'm not sure I'd be doing much more cloning until you determine that the "ridiculously slow" ones you did will kick it into gear. They just might, and I expect they will.

You could fill up some odd space with some auto variety in 1 gal pots if you could get the auto seed soon.

Anyway Good Luck!

Thanks for the quick responses, you think it would be efficient to just flower them once I get them a little vegged in 1 gals to fill up te room not left by the 3 gals? That would give me about a month more to be these and I was thinking like 5 small ones in 1 gals I could just put in the gaps of the big ones, how many gallons do you guys usually run for a 1000w?

That is a little unbalanced, wouldn't you say???

I used to Veg under a small T5 fixture (80 watt I think), and then flower in 600 watt HPS. Now I start my seedlings under that same fixture, veg under a 400 watt MH, then flower under the same HPS. Getting much better results.

Not saying that T5 to 1000 watt isn't possible...I just think that plants in veg respond to HID like a 400 watt MH much faster, and grow more vigorously, as compared to vegging under T5's. And I love fluorescent lighting, don't get me wrong, but there is a substantial difference between fluoros and MH vegging, in my opinion.

I would say save your 1000watts untill you have a reasonable amount of viable plants to put in there.

It wont kill you to turn it off for a week or two.

Have you ever used a 4 foot 8 tube 432 watt T5 unit?

I veg under T-5's. I usually don't have any problems with slow growth. The one time I did was due to overcrowding my veg area. I had 18 1 gallon plants under a 4 foot 8 bulb T-5 and it was tough to get good air circulation. I keep my clones under the T-5 til I'm ready to put them outdoors. I usually start off in solo cups, then 1 gallon and lastly 3 gallon pots. I LST them from the time I put them in 1 gallon pots. When I put them outside they are usually a little over 2 feet tall with about 7 or 8 upright branches.

Before I did anything else I would try to determine the cause of the poor growth. Because until you figure it out you're going to continue to have problems. Have you changed anything ?? Nut's, dirt, lighting, fans, temps, new strains??

To keep my flowering area maxed out I start clones every 3 months. I always have plenty that are a decent size to put into flower and it's easy to give away any excess plants.. I try to put 3 plants into flower every 30 days so I get that perpetual harvest from spring to fall.

Good luck !!

I run a badboy T-5 for clones only. Veg goes under 8kw MH and I flower under 6kw HPS. Get you an ez-clone and put 3 clones in rapid rooters per slot. You'll have 30 slots and 3 clones per slot giving you 90 clones to choose from. Step it up dude. :)

So I've had my flowering light Turned off a few days now, I just want to get a full room worth ready to flower ASAP, but I only had 4 plants in 3 gals and I'm taking clones tomorrow... So it's gonna be a month at least before I get my flower room going again, I just thought if I just did a few week veg in cups to 1 gals and just had more clones instead of bigger ones in 3's, I could save a few weeks of veg. I'm just trying to get the flower period started as soon as possible while still running an efficient setup, so what I'm really looking for is what would be the best thing to do at this point to fill the room QUICKLY and switch to flower. Any suggestions there?
