Most quiet inline fan

Would anyone be able to recommend the most quiet inline fans for a stealth grow? I only need about 100-120 cfm with a carbon filter. S&P fans I've read are quiet but the air blowing out of them isn't quiet and I don't know how to wire a fan. I guess my main issue is the noise level of the air leaving the fan. I'd appreciate any suggestions.

once you attach ducting and filter it isnt that loud. i got a 4 inch inline fan and filter and my ac muffles the sound.

Well my issue is that it's not going through much ducting, only a few inches worth. The fan would be sucking air through the filter and going out another few inches of ducting.

where is it being vented? into the same room? if so thats pretty pointless if your looking to reduce temps.

My guess, being that he mentioned a carbon filter, is that he is concerned with smell....and in that case venting into the same room isn't an issue.

if the heat inside the box is hot, which idk he he has a temp meter or not venting it into the same room will put the hot air back inside the box which is not good.

Yes, ideally you want to bring in cool air from place "A" and vent out hot air into place "B", but you can't always pull that off.

Even if you're venting your hot air into the same room as the box, the temp of the room air is still probably going to be quite a bit cooler than the temp inside the box. (The room itself may be air-conditioned, etc).

So while not optimal, its a lot better than not venting!

you are right, but i dont see a issue with drilling a hole in the wall they are easy to patch.

Agreed, I'm going to be venting a 1000w into the same room, but it's an air-conditioned room with both a cold air supply and return. If I didn't vent my grow tent it would turn into an oven in a cold room. If I vent the heat from the bulb outside of the tent, the air-conditioner should take care of the rest. I often wonder when reading posts on this forum like this if many people still don't have central air conditioning systems?

To the OP, I'm going with the S&P TD-200 8" inline fan to exhaust my 1000w. Noise is an issue to me so after much research I decided this sounds like the most quiet option. To eliminate the air noise I'll use insulated ducting to hook it up.

you must have a big ass ac. i got a 5k btw window unit in my room it cools the room off but if i vent my 400w in the same room ,i see 90 degree temps inside my box. i had to vent it through the floor.

If you have textured drywall the patches can be easily noticeable, also, if the adjacent rooms or spaces are being used for something else venting to them may not be an option.

I have central A/C. Not a window unit.

panasonic whisperline fans are the quietest and most expensive id' say ......dont get a 4" though their almost useless and i'd guarantee some day you upgrade you'lll hate it just get a rheostat and turn down the fan that way later you can add on easily i wish i had a 10" no lie

It helps a lot, especially since it has a really good return system to pull hot air out of the room too. I was half tempted to run my exhaust ducting up to the A/C return, but I think the ducting would be too long. The system also has a programmable thermostat so I have it set to turn down lower during light cycles.

I was searching for a trend on the most quiet fan available and found this one. I am ready to order my tent and fan in the next 2-3 days. I want to run a 6" system but throttle the fan back with a speed control to reduce the fan output to that of a 4". I 'm going to respectfully re-ask the original question more directly. What is the best inline/affordable fan available? Thank you in advance.:hump:
