Most vital factor for yeild

depends on if your indoors or outdoors.

If indoors there are a ton of variables each will effect the end result. I will say this. If you already have your area equiptment and seeds with no cash to change anything the no. 1 thing that you can do or not do that GREATLY affects your end product is plant training. My light penitrates 18 inches so i have an 18 inch canopy that spreads wall to wall. Any place the canopy is less than 18 inches lets light energy get wasted. All the tops idealy within an inch or two in height of one another as the plants put the most energy into the highest buds. My latest crop as of last night. Still 3 weeks out on a 9 week strain

Genetics
Strong Light
Huge Airflow/Ventilation, or CO2 done the right way.
Temps 70-84
Plants need Oxygen when lights out. Don't forget that. The Transpire when Lights On, and Respire, when Lights Out.
Plenty of Soil/Medium
Learning to Correctly Feed/Water

That's it. KISS. Veer off any of these rules, and things wont be optimal.

I'm going with grower skill as the most important.

Let's say everything is dialed in perfect including the grower.

Lower or raise the temp and yeild and quality will be affected to some degree depending on the amount of change.

Same for light.

Bags seed always has the chance of being dank.

Again if genetics are on a scale it would be a gradual decline.

If any of the above are gradually changed except grower skill the chance for growing dank weed and getting a good yield are still there.

If grower skills are judged, as the grower skills drop on each step of the scale at 1st the grower may have a lesser yeild and or a lesser quality to a small degree but eventually if that growers skill continues to drop, quality and yeild will quickly turn to shwagg or worse.

i'm not sure there's one that's way more important than the others. if you have bad genetics and everything else is perfect, the best you can hope for is passable mids.
if you have good genetics and decent skill, but bad environment, the best you can hope for is passable mids.
it's the combination of good genetics, good grower skill, and good environment that gets you onto the top shelf.

I routinely grow bag seed that turns out great.

If you can get pictures or samples to go along with local seeds, i think they are just as valuable as the online guys.

There is more than just this or that that can make a great plant.

Seed selection, Light, water, nutrient, root zone, trimming, timing, no disease, no pests, ect. all make for great end product.

If your plants are at least 3 foot tall and or wide by July you will have a substantially larger harvest than something that was started late.

Little things here and there won't doom a grow, but the less that goes wrong and the more preparation the better.

I would say the most important aspect of a grow is how experienced/intelligent the gardener is.
