Mother plant too Tall - what now?

Hello All
My Mother plant ( 5mo old ) is to tall. It is just getting light from a CFL.

Can I cut about a third or half off the plant? Don't need alot of clones right now. I will be over limit.

Is it possible to try to root the large several node portion I cut off to just duplicate the mother only and give away?

Yea, just chop her in half... Should be ok. I did this once..
It would be really cool if you were able to root the top half. Maybe just treat it like a really big clone and cut her back some so she doesn't need as much water.
