Motor Speed Controller question

If you wire 2 motor speed controllers in series with a fan, meaning:
120 volt-fan-MSC-MSC.would the speed drop in series.
As an example/ If I set the first MSC to 50 % and the second to 50% would I get a 50% reduction in speed from the 1st MSC, then 50% of that speed?

get a smaller fan maybe.....\all that reduction in voltage poses a fire hazard and shortens the life of your fan....I was planning a similar move then I researched it and got the right sized fan.
good luck

Good point...but I'd like to use the fan I have. It's a 6 inch fan that i normally use full speed.
Even with the motor speed controller running at the lowest setting, it's actually keeping my cooltube in the winter too cool.
It's a very small box, and I would like to radiate a little more heat into my grow, without relying on external sources for it.
Figured bringing the speed down more would accomplish this.
