Movies that hold up after time

There are tons of great movies that have been released. Most dont hold up after time...

Take Star Wars for example.. (saw this is Aurora CO. back in the late 70's) it was incredible then... but.. does not hold up to todays movies visually.. unlike The Wizard of OZ which I have seen a bunch of times and just watched it about 2 months ago...never knew there were no monkeys in this movie... all actors..

anyhow list some movies you think hold up visually to todays movies.. granted the cgi crap is every where

I like Sci-Fi movies ...... the original Alien movie is one of my all time favs and I think the special effects were way ahead of it's time .... no telling how many times I have seen it and I still watch it occasionally when I see it on TV :eyesmoke:

Will have to disagree with you on the star wars, still classic! The original were better than the new ones even though technology has vastly improved... Episode one... Horrible!

i agree.. i still love the first star wars movies, the og first ones, not the first in the series.. i'm not a fan of cgi stuff to begin with for the most part, always looks so fake like in jurassic park, those t rex's just look completely cgi to me and i don't dig it..

Agreed. Episodes 4-6 own 1-3 in my opinion. My favorite "Return of the Jedi" how can yo not love those fuzzy ewok bastards! Anyone remember the ewok movies?
