yeah that's it.Thanks man
Loved the opening line "Another time,Another place". Set somewhat in the 50's...but not. Michael Pare' as the badass,Diane Lane singing her own music, and a kickass fight scene in the end.
Always thought they would redo it one day.Glad they didn't.
Speaking of Michael Pare'....lip syncing and a bit-o-overacting in Eddie and the Cruisers

Damn! Beat me to it.good one.

More Newman..."Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid".
Also liked Reynolds part in "The Man who loved Cat Dancing".
Jeremiah Johnson
Streets of Fire ...from the 80's(yes Diane Lane was HOT!)
I liked the Simpsons episode where Homer was in NY City when he was younger and he walked by a movie theater. The movie playing was called 'Jeremiah's Johnson'.

Half baked isn't that old is it? Not really a 'what's your favorite movie' or 'stoner movie' thread, we have the same replies over and over in those. Come to think of it Mononoke isn't that old but GITS is still as popular as ever. Dreamworks are making a live action version.

Saving private Ryan, fucking awesome! War at it's most brutal! Like being on Omaha beach in you own lounge! and as matey previously stated, Band of Brothers, another awesome warfare epic!

and one for Squeamish, Contact! Jodie Foster, I think it is a well put together movie,
come to think of it, there's hundreds, if not thousands of superb movies.

Can't think of the name, but the other sub movie with Denzel...........
My buddy's dad actually served on the maiden voyage of the boat they used for October.
Crimson Tide.

But to this day Red October is the standout imo. It was filmed like a high-concept sci-fi movie. cn

Stand by me is another awesome movie, as is the hunt for red October.
there is by far too many to even begin comparisons, though in the war category, as previously stated, S.P.Ryan, still makes me shiver with a mix of delight and terror at the prospect of the carnage those brave, brave men survived. K.K.

i have never heard of one of those movies....
Spirited Away is beautiful, Racer. It was my first Miyazaki movie and since, I have seen almost all the rest. He animates the most remarkable flying machines that put me in mind of the fauna of the Burgess Shale. cn

I love his movies too, Spirited Away, then the other one I don't remember where the guy had an infection which made his arm crazy strong and these demons made of worm like creatures were attacking. And I'm not sure if he made "Howl's Moving Castle" but I liked that one so much I had to buy it. I don't know why I love movies like that so much, those are the only three I can think of are there any others I can check out?

Oh yes! He did make Howl's Moving Castle.

He previously made a couple of films ... one sort of weird and loosely based on a Swift tale (Castle in the Sky) and a real sweetie called Kiki's Delivery Service. He writes these wonderfully complex plots and supernatural creatures that don't slot neatly into good/evil as Western ones do. cn
