Will halogens be a sufficient source of light? I like this idea but the reason I was using the inverter in the first place is because the Plant will be in the back of a box truck. I planned on putting a small computer fan in there as well. I guess I could tap into the pos and neg on the dome light of the truck if it has a sufficient fuse. Great idea man!I got the best idea for you ... very easy to install.
Go buy some Fog Lights from Auto zone ,Pep Boys , Napa whatever part store. The lights will be 20-50bucks on the high and there usually 55watt halogen bulbs,It'll even come with a switch . All you got to do is go into your fuse box and look at the diagram itll say cigarette lighter pull the fuse out and replace with a 30amp fuse but FIRST You take the power wire from the fog light and push into the hole then put the 30 amp fuse in to hold the wire for the fog lights. Now for a negative , just look in your trunk . Pull a panel / carpet back and look for a bolt you can wrap that wire around.
If you got tools then drill a tiny hole on the trunk then screw a bolt into the hole .
Pull the carpet / panel and find a nice piece of sheet metal in the trunk , probably near the rear speakers .
This is really easy job

The battery im using is good, trust me I work on DC power for a living and can tell. Besides when the inverter died I was already doing a discharge test for over 3hrs. During this test I monitored the voltage and current every 10min for the first hour then every hour after that. When I went to check on it for the fourth hour the lights were out and the inverter wouldnt turn them back on (think it over heated). At this point the battery voltage was at 12.35 volts (more than enough to start the inverter).that inverter should really be able to supply those lights, thats not much power. its possible you have a bad altenator or battery also. is the inverter over heating? car floors get hotter than africa so it could be heating it up and thats whats causeing it to go into alarm mode. or the battery on your car cant provide that voltage for long periods of time and the alarm is coming on because it doesnt have the required power.
newer car? how old is the battery
As I started to explain above the plant will be concealed in a 4.5ft tall wardrobe box (the kind you buy at moving places) in the back of a box truck. I would like to hook up a small computer fan in the top of the box for some ventilation. I was gonna put the box in the middle and put boxes all around it so if any one looked in wouldnt be so obvious. Just one box out of many in the truck.how you planning on concealing them in the car? do they fit in your trunk?
I am definitely not heading through there heading along the coast down south although thats not to much better. Im just a guy trying to move his shit, not a mexican tryin to transport hundreds of pounds to its final destination. Know what I mean hopefully that will work in my favor if I do have problems. Sorry if I offended any mexicans.6 weeks is just going to start smelling strong for your drive! I think it would be fine for two days in the dark if it had good ventilation and all. Something to think about though. I've read that keeping your lights on for 1 or two days (continuously) at week 5 causes "double-flowering" where buds send out new pistils and increases yield. I don't think that even messing up your light cycle for 1-2 days is going to seriously mess up your grow.
That being said, I wouldn't travel through most of the Bible belt states with a full-sized plant in your car. People get locked up for a single seed in their ashtray in Kansas, Missouri and the like. If you have a med-permit try to steer through states with reciprocity
