MOVING TO CA- do i have to be a RESIDENT to get a card?? or just driv lic?

im moving to CA in a few months and im trying to find out if i have to be a resident of CA to get a medical card or if i get a CA drivers license and am aquiring residency in the meantime, can i still get a card? any info on this would be great thanks!

yeah i think if u have a drivers license, your fine. as long as it has a CA address that is...
if u need it quickly(before the ID card comes in the mail), ask the DMV to print out a temporary card. that may work. call and ask the dr first

Ditto, CA drivers lic. & if you don't have address u could get PO Box, until u get a place. Welcome cali has beautiful scenery... I was born in the Redwoods! Check out our coast line its awesome!

i use to live in cali and you for sure do need a state DL. change that thing before you unpack! the DMV there really is every joke about the DMV you ever heard. when they ask you about your aliment tell them your a dinosaur and you want to eat hillery swanks head. jk be real and you'll get it

THANKS MAN!! one of the reasons i love cali, people like you, nice and welcoming, everyone on the east coast is in a rush to get nowhere and theyre assholes on top of that!

haha the DMV where i live now is horrribleeeeeee, so im prepared for it!! :-D, yea no bullshitting the dr here, i have several ailments that i use weed for and i dont want the risk of getting arrested anymore, thanks for the infoo!!

go to the DMV web site for cali and find out how long you have to live in the state before you can even qualify to get a cali drivers lic. i know some years back you had to show proof you lived in the state for 3 months to gain a CA driver Lic. ( power, water, cable bill ect ect) i dont know if its still the same but i wanted to give you a heads up because it would suck to move here and then have to wait a few months on top of that to get your Req.

you can get a drivers license right away. not sure if it's beneficial to do so because the insurance is so high here. I kept my old license for a long time. turned out I had a license in multiple states regardless, my CA license was never discoutinued even though i got a license in another state. I paid 10 bucks and they sent me a replacement. you only need CA license to get a MM card. I know soemone with an out of state address on a CA license and he has a MM card so no, you don't need a CA address to get a license and you dont need a CA address on your license to get a script or buy. hope this makes sense.
