I know someone that would grow two plants in each hydro bucket. They were switched to 12/12 when still small and ended up taking up the same space a single plant would use with more veg time. This allowed him to use a smaller space for vegetative area. I never got into whether he did more pruning to make it happen, but the end results were impressive.
