Yeah, but, imagine boiling a large pot of it. With a large amount of water. On low. Until the water is gone. And then it being left on the heat, burning, overnight. As you blissfully slept.
And then waking up, noticing it, going: SHIT!
Realizing the corn on top seems OK. Really hydrated, every single kernel split wide like a butterfly, and the sides are a bit dry, since all the water was gone for a while. The bottom layer is burnt black.
I simply poured the corn into the quart jars (didn't even rinse), PCed, and used it.
All perfect.
Try that with rye.
And what do you mean by "shells"? Bits of corn cob?
