Musk scuttles last minute budget deal

The task at hand is to avert a government shutdown . After that happens there will be time for all the pork to be reviewed . I doubt pediatric cancer research will be cut from the final budget .

This seems to be a tactic used time after time , procrastinating until the last minute and then ramming through tons of special interest stuff in a "save the government from shutdown" panic . It shouldn't work like that .

Elongate continues.

This goes along with Musk saying that posters on X are the 'media' now.

Apologies for the lame sports analogy. I feel better when my team wins than I do when they lose. However, I'm not a win by nay means necessary kind of guy. If it was found they won by cheating, I'm out. Done.

There needs to be checks and balances. Too many people are saying things that are flat out lies and it gains traction. I don't get it.

Even when they admit they lied, Haitians eating cats, those that perpetuated the lie can't admit they were wrong.
Being proven wrong is a learning moment.
Probably goes along with the "sociopath" diagnosis dumpys niece Mary gave him. I think some have issues admitting wrong.

I read through most of that 1500 page budget.....I am very glad it was stopped. I don't care who stopped it.
Our country's mainstream media is so full of propaganda it has become unreliable.....that's why people stopped watching it.
It was a CR, not a budget. They (the house) didn't even pretend to try to pass a budget this year.

It seems Musky and Donelle don't know the difference between a budget and a continuing resolution either. Some of the changes they were asking for were not possible with a CR. So team red were not able to do what they asked. So that was a fail that didn't have to happen if they knew how government worked. Own goal type thing.

Putin is doing a hell of a job destroying America via trump and musk. They are a couple of stooges
It really rankles me that Musk can $$$$ buy in like this (this is no politics as usual quid pro quo closet influence peddling through political contributions it's a visual seat at the top table). If Musk wants to go "prime time" shouldn't HE actually undergo the vetting that elected official/cabinet members have. Another precedent set, like outright lies no longer prompt a blush in politics courtesy of the DON-ald,we now can add Billionaires spouting their policy ideas during their presidential bromance. Musk is likely terrified of having his past analized w/ a fine tooth comb, opening closet doors, looking under the rug ,etc that comes w/high level govt. positions. The guy's IQ is in the stratosphere but I think he's also dark-hearted, for eg. he's just endorsed a far-right neo-nazi party in Germany not to mention his parroting of the Dons use of mis-info in his rant that scuttled the bi-partisan budget deal. Hopefully w/the EGOS involved here he'll go the way of Rudy,Bannon,Manofort, and others when Trump tires of the SHINE Musk is currently basking in.

Yeah it should not,but people will sit on their votes seeking quid pro quos to "deliver" something for their districts/states,that has been going on forever in Congress. A "can't beat em, join em" mentality sets in prompting a "you need my vote I want this" then come election time talking points it's" I fought for this ,I procured funding for that" for my constituents. Morally speaking it should stop, but when truth/lies/lawful behavior no longer seem to matter in the political sphere there are more pressing issues at present IMO.

Well ,you know,we're protected by 2 oceans and have the world's strongest military in spite of some of it's shitty decisions so it stands to reason our biggest fear is imploding from within. I wish we could temper all the hostility by rallying around the fact that we are all still AMERICANS,and I hold out hope that if faced w/a existential challenge we can retain that capability , though doubt is creeping in sad to say. I know your a vet, though I'm not I come from a military fam.(I'm a adoptee and was born at Otis Air Force base) and my maternal grandfather was a WW2 fighter pilot so discipline is in my blood. I really think some kind of shared national service(doesn't have to be all military) would really benefit our nation in terms of bonding our diverse peoples.
