mutant fan leaves?-- 388w led..... cluster bomb and cheese candy feminized

hello fellow rollers. I am new to indoor gardening and have some questions. I have 2 mommas in the room under 1 388w Grow Panel Pro Ultra Blend. This light is brand new to the market and let me tell you it kicks ass. Mommas are doin good now but at first I had them in a DWC/Aeroponic setup. The temps got way too hot (like 91 F) and I had some algae from a light leak. PH fluctuations up the ying yang and to top it off P deficiencie. Every thing got cleaned and set up a new room with new equiptment. The plants took about 1 week to bounce back. Today is day 38 from seed and 1 plant has shown sex, the other(mutant) has not. I am on track if my numbers are correct so Im not too worried about sex.

I am however worried about the cheese candy (mutant) plant. Let me start by saying I am feeding PH perfect G,M,B with voodoo juice and B-52. Ph is always 5.7 and I am following the recommended mixing ratios. 1ml/L for seedlings and small plants.
My EC is .985
My PPM is 554
MY PH is 5.7
Daytime is 80 F
Nightime is 74 F
Soil is 75 F
Feed water 70 F
Everything is automated via controllers (or on cycle timers)

I am using sunshine advanced mix #4 in 2.5 gallon nursery pots. I put 1.5" of hydrocorn on the bottom, then 1/2" of washed perlite, then the sunshine mix. Topped it with 1" of hydrocorn and then 1" of perlite. I have them on an auto feed soaker hose that is supplied from a 1056GPH magdrive pump. The feed/water cycles are 10 seconds long and happen every 6hrs only durring lights on. 3oz of nutrient solution per feeding. Very little (around 5-10%) runoff every watering--- I rarely check EC/ppm/ph of runoff). This is a drain to waste setup and requires no leaching of the soil untill bloom or bloom additives are required. They will also be repotted into 5gallon pots before flower.

Plants are 7-8" tall and have 10 very tight internodes on them . They are very bushy due to the fimming/pruning I have been doing and the commercial grade LED light. They both look great except for 1 with mutant leaves. Is this just a recesive trait or do I have other worries. I have never had a mutant and I have been growing for almost 7 years (outdoors).

A little advise and I will be forever thankful. Let me know if you all needs pictures.

Post a picture!

other than that most mutant leaf genes dont mess too much up

my one Kings Kush has mutant leafs and the only thing its doing is making the buds fatter because of those extra mutant leafs.

You just put em on your desktop (for ease of access)

then click this button

Capture.JPG

and pick where you want to upload your pictures from

thats why the desktop is a good place to put them because you usually dont have a whole bunch of documents there let alone pictures

The picture are not in order ... sorry about that.
first is the clones I took today. left 4 are cluster bomb which is sativa domi--- 4 right are cheese candy which is more indica domi.
looking at the plant pictures, Im sure you can tell the difference.

my fan leaves had a similar growing pattern where it had extra leaves that looked like the small ones closest to the stem but were in the middle of the bug middle fan leaves

mutation 1.jpgmutation 2.jpg

theyre fine either way mutations happen quite often and dont usually harm anything.

lol... I was just checkin out the kings grow. Props man that shit looks great! I wanted to try those root builder ll pots, but instead I got 12 fabric root pots from aurora innovations. They are all that the hype says they are. shits works man, nothing but roots!!
yeah I kinda figured but when In doubt..... I appreciate the knowledge!

No problem! just glad i could help you out before the storm of veterans started bashing you for not using the search bar.

but when dealing with mutations theres so many its hard to get specific.

i love the air pots that i use and just found them to be more sturdy than the fabric ones. and theyre around the same price.

the kings kush is smelling and looking great really thickening up in the last few days to a week.

I havent smoked it but can already assume its going to be some killa to say the least.

Budbro, I have a question about my clones. I took them yesterday and they were all pretty much vertical. Now today when I looked in on them, they are crooked in the stem. Meaning they have started to lean or bend. I am also very new to cloning, like this is my 3rd time at it. The other times they never bent over or crooked.

Help me out brotha---- mabey Im just overthinking it and just need to wait it out and start to worry after 10 days. I have been feeding the mommas advanced nutrients B-52 from seedling and I foliar feed 1/4 strength B-52 3 days prior to taking the cuttings. You think they are just leaning towards the light. I have 2 23w daylight CFL (200w equilalent with both bulbs) as their light source. Is that enough or should I go with a t-5.

I also have 3- 13.5w led panels ( ebay specials ) that have:

60 Blue light LEDs: 465nm (nanometer) wave length
165 Red light LEDs: 650nm (nanometer) wave length 165 + 60 = Total 225 LEDs
I am using 2 of these on my orchids and lillies and they are loving the shit out of em. I know they are pretty weak since each led is only .06w. I can put up a picture of the clones if need be.

FYI- I have a digital thermostat for my heat mat that keeps the temp within 2 degrees +/- of the set temp. Temp of the rockwool is set at 79 F. Then I also have a digital aquarium temp that say the ambient air is 74-75. Which from what I understand is optimal to have the air slightly cooler than the root zone. Light is on 24hrs.

Everything sounds like they should be lovin it.

Did you cut the tips off the leaves? it looks like some are but some arent

i notice that whenever i forget to do that they start alot slower than they would have if i had trimmed them

Also they dont need alot of light to clone. Make sure youre not giving them 24/0 do something like 18/6 or 20/4 or even 16/8

They need more dark to grow theyre roots and less light to demand water from the roots.

Other than that everything youre sayin sounds like they should be doin fine.

whats your humidity like?

Id get some perlite for the bottom of your tray. ever since i started using it my clones are rooting faster and i have less of them die!

one of the best 5 dollar investments i coulda made was a bag of perlite.

yeah I did cut the leaves, some are shorter than others. I will trim them even.

It almost seemes that they are reaching for the light.

I will switch the hours to a 18/6

RH i waould guess has got to be 90-100%

When you say perlite in the bottom of the tray, obviously I put perlite in to fill the bottom. I have that double sided grodan prop tray in there and the cuttings are on that raised 1.5" up off the bottom. I have an inch of water in the bottom for moisture loss. Keep the tray with perlite underneath it or loose the tray and place the blocks ontop (or into) the perlite. I have a big of it so hell yeah man. Tell me how you do it.

I had one tray with a dome ontop of a heat mat.

in that i fill it almost all the way with perlite. about 1/2 inch from the top maybe

They fill it with water until its all saturated.

usually takes about half a gallon for my set up

Then i dig little holes, like im planting my clone in a pot, to fit my rapid rooters. usually about an inch into the perlite. then cover the sides of the cube.

This should leave about an inch under the clones of nothing but perlite before the water.

You wanna get your cubes out of the water because the stem isnt getting enough air for the roots to form

I also stopped using rockwool. no reason but when i switched to rapid rooters i got a much better success rate.

so maybe being submersed is the reason yours are growing slow?
