My 164 Watt CFL Grow

Really? I find the average indica high to be too cloudy/sleepy, pure indica anyway, I seem to prefer about a 75 percent sativa 25 percent indica mix, like a good strong skunk or a haze hybrid, yum. I think I'm going to post some pics tonight, been at work all day so far and still am so I haven't had the chance. I cant wait to show you guys the one indica that I LST'd, it is flourishing. I trimmed off the lower fans so the bottom shoots would get more light, and its just now starting to develop new growth at the top because the LST stunted the little lady for a while, which I don't mind, no rush here. It has the deepest green leaves, and the stems below the new growth have this beautiful purple tinge. I know what you're thinking, thats a nute deficiency, but its not its doing great and the fans are reaching up to the light real nice, must be the strain. Anyway it looks like a king cobra or something with just the couple sets of fans at the top, growing pot kicks ass.

Oh, and I've flushed her about three times, it takes roughly 2 to 2 1/2 days for the soil to dry back out completely and I dont want to drown her. the new fans are not clawing like the other older ones(now cut off, snip snip...) thank god, but they are still too yellow for my taste and the new growth still seems to be browning at the tips of the leaves. I think its getting better, I plan on giving her a couple more flushes and note how she responds. Another thing though, how much water does everyone else use to flush a 6 inch pot? I may not be using enough...

i know this is aganst the rules but iv had the same problem with MG soil and sence the pelits are thair to stay you cant flush it out it will be thair for 3 months like the bag sead. what i did was pull the plant up vary carfuly like i was transplanting but i washed the soil from the roots. i know it seems like a piss por idea but ist like flushing a hydro setup except your washing the soil off not the exsses fert build up on the roots. then just plant it like you would a clone in new less hot soil.

I agree... if your plants are not responding well by now... you may have no choice but to transplant....

When flushing... water until it flows out the bottom, then let it drain for a couple of days.

Oh and the Indica buds are perfect for my conditions... chronic pain with insomnia.. Smoke a bowl before bed, and the pain is gone and I sleep like a baby =]

before I had 3 deferent prescriptions... that only helped to make me feel like shit =/

good news all, the plants seem to be making slight improvements. there is new growth on both plants that had problems before and it seems to be getting better. one still needs to green up considerably before I stop worrying about her, but I'm less worried than before thats for sure. I must not have been flushing with enough water, that would seem to explain why it took so long. sorry about pics guys I tried taking some this morning and there was absolutely no point in trying, my cell phone sucks. I'm going to wait, my girlfriend plans on getting a new digital so I'll prolly update with pics then. Shit by then I should have the carbon filter going and will probably be well into the plants LST, so things will look quite a bit different.

i have 2 65 watt cfl area lights with each one producing 6,825 lumens they are bad ass and doing great i am gonna get 2 more so I will have 4 so that's about 27,300 lumens all together. plenty for my space. after a few grows i found these at lowes and I dont care what ppl say about cfls my buds smell fantastic.

God, please no one ever tell me their "total" lumens on my thread ever again. I don't want a repeat of what happened last time...

same ole same ole, they're just vegging away. surprisingly the one sativa lady that suffered the nute burn seems to be growing more vigorously than the rest. Its already made a lot of progress in its LST, already made it to the edge of the pot and has a good start winding around the edge of the pot. the side shoots are reaching and turning up to the light beautifully. the indica that i am LST is moving along kind of slow now, new growth seems to be taking forever. I think I possibly damaged the top of the root ball on the initial bend over. fucking rookie carelessness. the topped sativa has already developed its two main vertical shoots and is progressing nicely, aslo seems to be cured of its nute burn. and last but not least is the indica I fimmed. she looks the healthiest of all, all four grow tips coming in nicely at the top, and the lady smells damn near erotic. a spicey skunkiness that is to die for. yum.

no man, in one of my previous posts I stated that I have upgraded to two 40 watt 6000k cfl's along with two 40 watt 3000k soft white cfl's. The 65 watt had a 4100k color temp which is a no no, otherwise yes I would have used that single cfl all the way through veg, IM CRAZY! This grow is more or less an expiriment as to what can be accomplished with little more than some bagseed, some cfls, and a cardboard box. Oh and LOTS of creativity :)

I'm with you on all that Dankness.. after all I veged my plants with just 1 26w coolwhite cfl per plant.. just one... 104w total for 4 plants, and they did great... now I'm flowering with 2 26w daylights, and 4 23w softwites.. 144w total for 4 plants... so far so good. I'm not expecting award winning buds.. but from the looks of it, I'll be getting plenty enough for myself and then some. =]

Keep the creativity going Dankness =]

well thank you for the encouragement wolfman. I have been keeping tabs on your thread and your results so far look great. sorry I haven't posted but so many others are, you would probably miss it anyway. I know nothing of hydro grows but it seems like you have it down pat. anyway I hold the opinion that these micro grows are more interesting than the large scale ones. anybody with a very small chunk of cash and a decent IQ can pull one of these off, and its amazing to see what can be accomplished.

Darkness i wouldnt worry about the heat i got 2 plants with 2 of these less than an inch away from the plants and i have not experienced any burn yet. Go for the higher wattages ESPECIALLY FOR FLOWERING if you want think and dense buds otherwise these little 20 and 40 watt cfl's are going to give you some skimpy ass buds. 105 Watt Compact Fluorescent 5000K Full Spectrum CFL There arse some 150 and 200 watt cfl's on there. The only thing is they are mogul base. But no problem you can get a Mogul to Standard Reducer (E39 to E26) adapter (from the same site) and then just use the lights a regular socket. Also The 200 watt easily puts off 10,000-12,000 Lumens at a beautiful 5000k Full spectrum for vegging.
