My 164 Watt CFL Grow

Important news all, ANOTHER FEMALE. That means I have 2 beauties now, one lanky LST sativa, and a topped and topped again 75/25 sativa/indica mix(guessing, its bagseed). I am so excited to have two plants, mostly because the one female looks basically pure sativa and I wanted a little more variety. Well I got it, I gave both ladies their final prune today, cleared up a lot of light blocking fans, the lower shoots are receiving A LOT more light now. I re-positioned the plants and I basically have 2 40 watts concentrated on each plant. They still are only about 14-18 inches tall so I think this will be enough light. I am REALLY glad I used the space saving techniques I did because I think it will pay off in the final yield, lots of bud sites on these plants. All is going well wish me luck!
:leaf::leaf: Congratulations i think i got a female too. :leaf::leaf:

Okay people its the moment you've all been waiting for, TheDankness cannaporn extravaganza '08! Below will be several thumbs that were taken with the new camera, although I am not altogether satisfied with them. I think I am going to be taking the camera back and opting for the slightly more expensive one. This one has slow shutter speeds and crap for macro focus... But here you go, both plants have been on 12/12 for nearly 3 weeks now, one of them is suffering slight nute burn after I transplanted it into a 6 inch pot with MG potting soil. I know, I know, I though it would be okay since I barely needed to add any soil to the pot to fill it anyway, the old container I was using was only slightly smaller, but sure enough nute burn followed just a couple days later. Enjoy :)

Oh, the camera was on the lowest resolution setting, oops. I am not doing that all over again today, sorry. I think I'll still replace the camera, I really want good close ups and the editing software sucks too.

The thumbs above are from yesterday morning so... they kinda look like that. Things haven't really changed much since then.

I'm definately gunna keep an eye on how this thread finishes out, considering I'm using a cardboard box with 2 comp fans, a carbon filter, 2 lights and LST. Seems kinda similar hahaha. Yours are lookin GOOD man.

Haha yeah they do sound pretty close. How many plants are you planning on, or do you already have the grow started? I think I'm doing a pretty good job for a first grow considering that I've spent a total of like 50 dollars on it. I've definately learned a lot during the process though, from my own mistakes and other growers advice alike. It really is AMAZING the results you can get with creativity, TLC, and a few helpful hints from others. Its also surprising how many dirt cheap substitutes there are for the high end stuff involved in growing, so pretty much anyone can grow. The saying "think smarter not harder" is the mantra you should follow. Anyway peace, thanks for stopping by.

I am so excited to see how those bud sites fill out in the coming weeks. My aurora indica seeds are still on the way and I still have my flowering chamber to plan out but my veg/clone chamber is ready to accept its first recruits

Please keep us updated! It ,ay not seem that way sometimes but you have a lot of readers checking in.

Hey thanks for the words of encouragement! I wasn't updating with pics often before 'cause I had no digicam, but I bought one now so it should be every few days. Good to hear you have your own grow planned, if you need any advice or you have any for me feel free!

Okay here is something that is royally pissing me off and I thought you guys could help out. I already have 1 plant with slight nute burn after transplanting into the bane of my existence, MG potting soil. I'm already addressing that problem by flushing until I see new, healthy growth. Now I have another problem and I'm not sure of the solution. My LST sativa that is budding just beautifully has necrotic spots all over the lower fans. It started small, and I wasn't too worried as I expected some yellowing of the lower fans when I went into flowering. Now, however, I am quite worried as it seems to be getting much worse. I CANT LOSE MY BEST PLANT HELP ME! I am watering with schultz all purpose plant food, a drop of superthrive, and 1 teaspoon per gallon of epsom salts. I do not get it, any tips?

Is your LST sativa in MG potting soil as well? If so, is it the MG potting soil with time released nutrients? And how big of a pot is it in? :peace:

pot is 6 inches. yes MG potting soil as well, but this one went through her nute burn long ago. I flushed those damn nute balls away long ago in this one. the other plant is having problem with the soil becuase I transplanted it recently, the plant in question should have no soil issues.

That pot might be a bit small for the plant, but I'm not sure, as I've always transplanted into 2 1/2 or 3 gallon pots.

As for the MG soil, I know the nutes get activated when you water, so if you're sure you flushed away all the little nutrient balls then I'm stumped. Sorry I couldn't help. Hopefully someone who's experienced what your experiencing right now can figure it out. :peace:

No worries brother, I actually opened up another thread specifically targeting this problem and I think I know how to fix it. General consensus is that the problem is PH nute lockout. I am going to flush her the next couple waterings, and follow with nothing but fresh clean spring water for a week or so, then I'll start 'em on light nutes again. Everyone saw the Mg deficiency in her, and when I told them I was feeding with Mg, lockout was the diagnosis. When in doubt, flush em out really does apply often doesn't it?
