My 1st CFL bubble drip Grow

ok so i have a hydro drip system with two air stones growing 3 kush and 3 sour D....

i followed almost every step roseman suggests.and hes right cuz its working great so far.

anyway i started my seeds in a cup of water in a napkin for 30hrs.i offically put them in on oct 8th.this pic below is 3 days.24/0 of light.as you see in1st pic i had back up seeds just in case.cuz i new atleast one wouldnt pop.but the next 1 did.


oct 11th



oct 13th after i put nutes in to early they sagged.



oct 15th
the night i noticed the sagg i got some tips on here to fix this and it did.i then drained the whole tank and filled it back to normal.and stuck tooth picks to hold them up nice.this pic below is today 2 days after i stuck the toothpicks in and changed the water.there holding up great and there growing quick.











im using two 6500k cfls and 1 2700l cfl for now.once they get going more i'll break out more lights.and there also in this box i built.waiting for the fans to get here in the mail.the box isnt done i also have tubing from a portable air conditioner.it fits perfect in the window with it barely open.and it has like 10 fit of bendlabe tubing i'll post more pics as i finish it.

thanks man i'll keep it updated every 5 days...im still trying to figure what are the best nutes for hydro.i have flora grow micro and bloo.just didnt add any yet.know of anything better?or if this is good

ok so its the 17th of october and i go to check all the tubes and stuff to make sure evrything is workina nd i notice these little brown burn looking dots on 1 of my plants.heres a pic..can u tell me what that is.and i did do a flush 3 days ago cuz i put to much nutes in.is it spider mite i cleaned everything before i planted.

Dude I had the samething happening to my UK Cheese plant developed brown spots on the leafs, it was stress from water under phed an nutes to early in the grow they should be 3" or more inches before using nutes that's what I learned, used phed water between 5.1 and 5.8 only for a few days with no other treatments and it clear up and is looking great.

Check yourself on what your doing and go back on your steps to see what may be doing wrong if the water is to high in ph or if over watering or nutes to early.

Looks like a slight case of overnuting to me. Just back off on the nutes a little and things should be fine. When you add water, add only water or drain a gallon and add a gallon of water only.

ok i havent added any nutes in 7 days and when i did they were only in for a day and then the plants sagged so i drained the whole thing and put new water in and they perked up and these spots came 2 days after i changed the water.some leafs curl up some curl down.and now i see some brown on my roots?is that normal.heres some pic of day 14.14 days from seedlings.

Could be that your flow rate of water is on the high side using a simple splitter. When the roots are well into the res take the feeder tubes and the splitter out and treat it like a standard DWC set-up. Roots look ok and I don't think the coloration if a big deal. What nutes are you using? You should be in the 3/4 to full nute stage about now. They look really good for 14 days from seedling. Minor adjustments here and there are all you need.

ok thanks a bunc .i have flora grow and flora micro and flora bloom.i really didnt add any nutes since the time they sagged when i did add them 7 days ago when i saw the 4 leafs.since thenits just been water.i drained all the water i could maybe left 2 cups in the bottom with some nutes in there and then filled it back up with fresh water.how much nutes should i put in it.since iots lquid.like 2 tps per gallon? or grow and micro.cuz im not sure at all.i been waiting for answers on here.dont want to ruin anything

I use those nutes also. The micro is what is "staining" your roots. No biggie as I thought. When you add nutes back give thme a 1/4 dose one day and then wait a couple of days and hit them with another 1/4 and see how they do. The dosage is on the bottle. They are big enough for at least 1/2 dose now and maybe more. You just have to sneak up on them. A couple of spots like you have at the bottom is no big deal. Get the pump and splitter out when all the roots are well into the water and things will settle down.

ok thanks again.my bottles are blank.sort of like testers i guess.i'll check the site out.when u say half a dose how mant tsp does that come to.im like dumb with mesuring and stuff lol....

For 1/4 dose it's 1/4 tsp per gallon of res water or about 1 1/2 tsp per BP res. Might want to get one of those baby medicine dosers. They are like an eyedropper and are measured in ml and/or tsp.. 5 ml per tsp.

ok so i have another question i have 2 5500 k 27w cfl bulbs and 3 6500k 23w bulbs and 3 2700k 23w bulbs.is that going tobe enough or should i order more?.i also have 3 of those split things for the bulbs and 3 round fixutres.justw ant to know sine im ordering more stuff as it is....everyoens two cents helps.thx in advance

Think of the area you want to cover and try to get between 3 and 5k lumens per sq ft. Veg is easy and you should be fine in veg. When you get to flower you want to throw as much light as possible. Heavy on the 2700k with a few 6500 or 5500k light thrown in for balance. In other words, if you buy any more lights make them 2700k's.

Wutup thc ... I c thngs r comin along cuz... I think I'll give hydro a shot when I get my shit setup better... About the lighting I always put 2 cfls for vegg on one plant stays short n bushes on the 24/0 and if u have a few for the bloom put some lights
low n close and few over head that's wut I'd do with a set up

ok so i have added one dose of nutes in the past 4 days and now im on the 18 day from seed in veg state.here are some pics.is it to early to top them.im going to change to 12/12 in 2 weeks.andis there anyway i can find the sex's out sooner? sorry for the huge pics.there growing so so quick its nuts.

They look REALLY good! If you are going to flower in two weeks you can top them if you want to. As far as sexing, they will have to be mature to get what they call preflower and a new grower would have trouble determining them sometimes. When they start having alternating leaves (as opposed to one leaf right across from the other one) they are considered mature. The only way to sex reliably is to switch them to 12/12 and wait about 2 weeks for the little hairs or balls to show up.
